The Kingdom of Aqeland is a huge, safe nation, remarkable for its rum-swilling pirates, compulsory military service, and stringent health and safety legislation. The compassionate population of 326 million Aqelandians are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

The medium-sized government juggles the competing demands of Education, Welfare, and Healthcare. The average income tax rate is 27.9%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The sizeable but inefficient Aqelandian economy, worth 11.2 trillion Euros a year, is quite specialized and led by the Tourism industry, with major contributions from Information Technology, Door-to-door Insurance Sales, and Woodchip Exports. State-owned companies are common. Average income is 34,446 Euros, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.1 times as much as the poorest.

Auditors are gutting every governmental department, a common response to government PSAs is "well, DUH, obviously", political detractors refer to Leader as 'that Bigtopian puppet', and dozens of viewers go online to hear whether a comma has been added to Clause 5 in Subsection B of Law 58375. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown. Aqeland's national animal is the Lion.

Aqeland is ranked 72,915th in the world and 3,536th in The East Pacific for Safest, scoring 89.26 on the Bubble-Rapp Safety Rating.
