The Civil War

Several centuries ago, a decade old war ended. The Civil War. Three sides fought each other for supremacy of the empire. The Havenians, the Sanctuarians and the Faunus.

The War's beginning

Haven had sent a colonisation force to Sanctuary, but they rebelled against their brethren. At the same time, Faunus had been persecuted for their differences and started their own revolution. The war had begun.

The Battle of Sunatar Harbour

The first battle of the Civil War. Things came to a head at the Sunatar Harbour Speech, which had a representative of Haven say that Sanctuarian Rebels will be executed and Faunus are to be exterminated. The Faunus and Rebels within the crowd rioted and The Havenian Soldiers present opened fire. This sparked a full on battle that would mark the nation's history. Musket rifles firing and the screams of those caught in the crossfire. The battle ended in the victory of the Rebellion and Revolution.

Conflict between the Revolution and the Rebellion

The feeling of the shared victory over Haven didn't last. As the only presence on Sanctuary, they started to monitor each other closely, while ignoring the Havenians, which were readying the army for war.

The Battle of the Yasanct Forest

The Rebellion and The Revolution clashed within the Yasanct Forest, over the Rentaru River. The firing of muskets and cannons filled the air. The battle ended in the victory of the Rebellion, while the Revolution retreated deep into the jungles.

The Havenian Invasion

However, their victory was short lived. Haven launched an attack and were able to capture the settlement of Untasar. The Rebels were caught unawares and were stabbed in the back while they tried repelling the invasion. The Revolution had decided the time to strike was then, and crippled supply lines.

The Siege of Anasaral

The Rebellion settlement of Anasaral came under siege by Haven. Anasaral was the last line of defence for the Rebellion's headquarters. Should it fall, the Headquarters would be in the direct line of fire for both of the Rebellion's enemies. Then, a miracle happened. The Revolution came and drove off the Havenians. After the Havenians had retreated to the coastal city of Trainack, The Revolution pulled back from the plains cities and settlements. They held the forts in the jungles. The Rebellion took the plains and were now in the middle of a warzone.

The Stalemate

For a good three decades a stalemate ruled. Coastal cities and settlements were under Haven control, the plains had a high Rebellion presence and the inland jungles held the Revolution forces. A skirmish would be held every once in a while, but ultimately the place was relatively peaceful.

The Revolution strikes back

The three decade stalemate ended when The Revolution took Trainack, Torusark and Batchukal. They struck quickly and held these three for the rest of the war. Haven no longer had a base of operations on Sanctuary and The Revolution took their cities and settlements which drove them out of Sanctuary.

The Rebellion lays down their sword

The Rebellion, having been nearly routed numerous times against the Revolution, had finally decided to surrender. Sanctuary had been taken over by the Revolution.

Peace talks

Haven knew that Sanctuary had been taken. They proposed peace, and talks began to end the war. When the last agreement and treaty had been signed, peace finally arrived upon the newly designated "Haven and Sanctuary".
