Iggleboggle Origins

In the early 2000s, Iggleboggle's inception was driven by a group of nationalist Welsh fishermen who set sail on their audacious expedition to discover unclaimed land.
Their journey led them to the establishment of an island nestled between the continents of Africa and South America, culminated around the time when David Cameron held office as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

During the Labour era of 2008, the islands were legally claimed by the UK government. However, Arvey Thomas and Robbie Green, the visionaries behind Iggleboggle, fervently opposed this ownership. They found a glimmer of hope in the Conservative Party, which promised cooperation in shaping the islands' future.

By 2012, discussions had begun about the possibility of Iggleboggle gaining independence. The Conservative Party, eyeing an opportunity to solidify their position, engaged in negotiations. In 2016, pivotal legal documents were signed, formally transferring ownership of the islands from the UK to Arvey Thomas.

With this transfer of power, the name "Iggleboggle" came into existence, and the seeds of democracy were sown. Arvey Thomas temporarily assumed full ownership under his own party, the Northern Iggleboggle Committee Party. Meanwhile, his partner, Robbie Green, led the opposition as the head of the Iggleboggle Welsh Heritage Party.

Arvey's initial commitment to democracy was unquestionably sincere. He had every intention of sharing governance of Iggleboggle with his partner, Robbie Green, and had made personal promises to the people of the island and the UK government. These promises included holding elections between their respective parties once ownership of Iggleboggle was secured.

However, the situation took a significant and unexpected turn when the UK government, with the power to decide the island's ownership, chose Arvey over Robbie. Despite this decision, Arvey remained steadfast in his intention to honor his commitments.

Yet, as he assumed sole ownership, a cloud of disillusionment loomed. Arvey faced immense pressure from influential figures within the UK government who were eager to maintain control over Iggleboggle. These external pressures began to sway his resolve.

In a shocking and deeply disappointing twist, Arvey turned his back on the democratic principles he had championed. He abandoned the idea of elections, instead consolidating power under the banner of the Iggleboggle Northern Committee Party, effectively making it the only legal political entity. Opposition to the government's views was made illegal, marking the beginning of an autocratic regime in Iggleboggle.

Robbie Green, once Arvey's partner in the pursuit of democracy, found himself declared a legal criminal. He was arrested and sentenced to jail, a grim chapter in Iggleboggle's history. The nation eventually abolished prisons in favor of a brutal form of punishment, leading to Robbie's public execution two years after his imprisonment.

These dark and oppressive actions by Arvey marked a stark departure from the democratic ideals that had once defined Iggleboggle. The nation transformed into an autocratic state, where dissent was met with severe consequences, leaving its inhabitants and the UK populace deeply angered and disheartened by the events that had transpired. It was a tragic reminder of the corrupting nature of power and the erosion of democratic values.
