The Bartering God, Haki

"Before me stands a queen, the Queen of Dawn. I have never bargained with a queen, I want to try it."
-Haki to Queen Enurbia during his intervention in the Great Terror

Overview
Haki, also known as "Belif" or "The Barterer" is the patron deity of the nation of Ilthenia. Described as a shapeshifter, but often appearing in media as a massive, centipede-like entity with hundreds of limbs, they are Erisam's deity that represents desires, trade, and knowledge. As such, Haki is exceedingly powerful in those aspects.

Haki, being the literal God of Desire, is able to give form to the desires of those who come to them, be they knowledge, magical power, an extended lifespan, the healing of a sick or dying family member, or the salvation from a disaster, Haki grants it to those who seek him out. They use it as a means to gain from mortals, as Ilthenia describes Haki as "Exceptionally greedy, full of desires, and willing to trade anything for anything". Haki will grant whatever wish a person desires, but will, in return, take something from them depending on their wish. As the Barterer, Haki always has a price for their works, be it something a person owns, or a very piece of them, their soul, body, mind, senses, everything is up to be traded with Haki, even friends and family if a person is depraved enough. They are known to feed on the people that they've taken as payment, sucking out their insides or simply swallowing them whole.

Haki does not discriminate, but considers the entire Calameri Race to be their property, and they take this to it's full advantage. When a Calameri dies, their soul is given to Haki, where they will then store it, putting the soul into an inescapable state of slumber, to eternally dream until Haki has need of them. It is rumored that Haki has a vault, a plane of their design consisting of vast, glowing cave systems and large panopticons, a near-endless gallery where they store their vast collection of treasures and people who have been traded to him.

Haki's influence resides most in Ilthenia, where their servants, Calameri who have devoted themselves to their name, do their bidding, and allow them a way to communicate with the mortal realm without entering it. Many Calameri revere Haki as their saviour, and willingly accept their fate after death. Some, however, are discontent with the burden they were born with, many attempting to find an "escape" from Haki's grasp, so far, their efforts have been unsuccessful.

While being able to take whatever form they want, Calameri associate Haki with centipedes and millipedes, believing them to be symbols of their presence and his avatars in the physical world. As such, places of worship usually have a few centipedes crawling around.

History

While it is unknown to Ilthenia how and when Haki appeared into the world, they know very well of his actions to help them. Early in their history, when the Nation of Ilthenia was being formed, the land they were in faced a decade long series of disasters, now known as the "Great Terror". The Ilthenese, in a desperate act to survive through the disease, the natural disasters, the war-bands which pillaged their lands, and a dragon attack, sent the "Sovereign of Dawn", their queen, to bargain with Haki. Haki would help them, and in return, the Calameri race would be indebted to him. The wish was presented, the price was set, and both came to an agreement.

Haki obliged, granting them arcane and technological knowledge, which they used to kill the dragon, push back the war-bands, create cures for diseases, and fortify the land against natural disasters. In return, every Ilthenese, present and future, was to be sent to them in death, to be their treasures for all eternity.

Since then, Haki has passively watched over Ilthenia, occasionally encountering those who wish to have their desires taken form.
