Les Fils de Lucifer

Population120 million

The Community of Les Fils de Lucifer is a very large, socially progressive nation, renowned for its barren, inhospitable landscape, frequent executions, and spontaneously combusting cars. The hard-nosed, hard-working population of 120 million Detroitois enjoy some of the most opulent lifestyles in the region, unless they are unemployed or working-class, in which case they are variously starving to death or crippled by easily preventable diseases.

The tiny, liberal, pro-business government is primarily concerned with Defense, although Education, Healthcare, and Law & Order are also considered important, while Spirituality and International Aid aren't funded at all. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 6.5%.

The strong Detroitois economy, worth 5.82 trillion dollars a year, is driven almost entirely by the private sector, which is fairly diversified and led by the Door-to-door Insurance Sales industry, with major contributions from Cheese Exports, Gambling, and Trout Farming. Average income is 48,465 dollars, but there is a vast disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 319,758 per year while the poor average 2,845, a ratio of 112 to 1.

The latest Harry Potter book is a bestseller, books are often used as kindling, people often get liposuction to reduce their air fares, and Jennifer Government is a bestseller. Crime is a major problem, with the police force struggling against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Les Fils de Lucifer's national animal is the eagle, which can occasionally be seen dodging aircraft in the nation's cities.

Les Fils de Lucifer is ranked 98,030th in the world and 13th in The United Islands of the Atlantic for Most Politically Free, scoring 60 on the Diebold Election Inking Scale.
