The Dictatorship of Papalandia is a colossal, environmentally stunning nation, ruled by Father with an iron fist, and notable for its triple-decker prams, strictly enforced bedtime, and stringent health and safety legislation. The hard-nosed, cynical, humorless, devout population of 9.932 billion Papalandians are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

The enormous, corrupt, moralistic, socially-minded, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Education, Defense, and Administration. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Papagrad. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 93.6%.

The powerhouse Papalandian economy, worth a remarkable 1,465 trillion Papas a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is an enormous, deeply entrenched, quite specialized black market in Arms Manufacturing, Information Technology, Basket Weaving, and Beef-Based Agriculture. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is an impressive 147,601 Papas, but there is a significant disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 429,952 per year while the poor average 40,062, a ratio of 10.7 to 1.

Male cubicle workers stand up every time a woman enters the room, the nation won three wars against Brancaland this weekend, political activists are routinely executed, and the best spies are positively radiant after completing a big mission. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Papalandia's national animal is the Millipede, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its national religion is Fatherism.

Papalandia is ranked 20,173rd in the world and 253rd in the Pacific for Most Extreme, scoring 39.66 on the Paul-Nader Subjective Decentrality Index.
