The Dictatorship of Papalandia is a colossal, cultured nation, ruled by Father with an iron fist, and renowned for its enslaved workforce, compulsory military service, and pith helmet sales. The hard-nosed, cynical, humorless, devout population of 8.727 billion Papalandians are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

The enormous, corrupt, moralistic, socially-minded, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Education, Defense, and Administration. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Papagrad. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 92.7%.

The thriving Papalandian economy, worth a remarkable 1,178 trillion Papas a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is an enormous, deeply entrenched black market in Arms Manufacturing, Information Technology, Basket Weaving, and Beef-Based Agriculture. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is an impressive 134,997 Papas, with the richest citizens earning 6.0 times as much as the poorest.

Caroling is considered a public disturbance, the government has officially clarified that "wee on your hands to save time" does not count as proper hygiene, punk rockers smash it up and then clean it up, and government agents scour baking periodicals for subversive recipes. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Papalandia's national animal is the Millipede, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its national religion is Fatherism.

Papalandia is ranked 34,515th in the world and 879th in the Pacific for Highest Poor Incomes, with 51,193.05 Standard Monetary Units.
