The majority of Ponderosa's population identifies as Christian. 45% identify as Catholic, with 15% identifying as Protestant and 10% as Mormon.

Atheists account for 25% of the population, while Jews make up 3%. All other faiths collectively make up 2% of the population

The Bill of Rights of Ponderosa states:

"1) Every citizen and foreign national shall have the right to practice any religion of their choosing, or maintain a lack thereof.
2) The Republic of Ponderosa shall respect no establishment of religion.
3) No religious test shall be required to hold public office in the Republic of Ponderosa.
4) No law shall be passed with religious dogma as the sole basis for its existence."

In addition, discrimination based on religion is illegal, with the exception of explicitly religious organizations such as churches.
