The Kingdom of Korea

“If God asked me what was my wish, I would reply unhesitatingly, "Korean independence." If he asked me what was my second wish, I would again answer, "My country's independence."”
Kim Gu, Korean Politician — circa 1947

단군왕검

Joseon or Greater Joseon State was the last and longest dynasty in Korea (1392–1897), having been founded by King Taejo of Joseon and later succeeded by the Korean Empire. The Joseon Dynasty was founded after the fall of the Goryeo Dynasty. The Kingdom's borders to the north of the peninsula were expanded to the Amnok and Tuman rivers. In 1932 the Phoenix Throne was restored by the Japanese in order to form a loyal puppet state in their quest for a united Asia, after it's liberation in 1945 the throne was once again dissolved by allied forces and Korean politicians. In 1961 the Kingdom of Korea was once again restored following years of chaos caused by ideological infighting following the fall of the Japanese Empire and it's puppet state of Greater Joseon.
