These energy sources are often long lasting and are very eco friendly. Other renewable sources are also used, such as solar, geothermal, turbine, and hydro power. Subhurbia's prisons are colloquially known as vampire houses, as young prisoners are forced to donate blood. Politicians are paid not only based on their status, but also how well they perform. Subhurbia was once divided into different independent states, now it has become one sovereign state made up of several nations. Each of these nations have their own customs, cultures, social, mental, and emotional nature, and others. The cities would also be designed and appear differently from those from other nations. The only reminant of the original Subhurbia is now called Central Subhurbia. Each nation is divided by a 20 mile long border line that only authorized officials are allowed to go. In the middle of this border line is a high security station that is longer than the Great Wall of China. Subhurbia is making efforts all over the sovereignty to make underground cities various layers down the crust, underwater, in the air, and in space. This was successful and now a significant population live off land. There are monorail trails that can transverse between different layers underground as well as on surface. Subhurbians throughout the federation eat a variety of different cuisines, but what they all have in common is that they don’t eat meats, ie chicken, poultry, beef, pork etc. They also don’t consume dairy products or chicken/mammal based eggs. All of their diets are centered around vegetables, fruits, herbs, seasoning, spices, wheats, and some fish. They use natural sea salt, not ionized salt and the only sugar they use is raw brown sugar. They do use natural sweetners like stevia. All foods in Suhurbia are natural/organic. The same applies for their drinks. Nonetheless, various delicious cuisines and desserts are known throughout Suhurbia. In Suhurbia, legal adulthood is at the age of 25. The age of adolescence varies somewhat, but often starts around the age of 13. There is no legal age for drinking, but people don’t normally drink until the mid or late teens. Giving an alcoholic drink to a toddler is seen negatively.
