Important nations the Zhen cares about

Country

Status

Russia

The Zhen has shared historical ties with the Russians, with official interactions dating back to the 1689 Treaty of Nerchinsk.
Official doctrine is to facilitate long-term cooperation and mutual economic benefits. A stance of non-interventionism is followed.
The Zhen will continue to cooperate with Russia, and will make more plans to invest in the resource-rich regions of the Russian Far East,
as seen with investments made recently surrounding Russian coal mines.

Korean Peninsula

The Zhen has shared historical ties with the Koreans, with interactions dating back to the Han conquest of Gojoseon.
Ever since, Korea - under various imperial dynasties - has paid tribute to China, and has inherited a variety of cultural values from the landmass.
Official doctrine is to continue upholding a tough, yet amenable stance on the Republic of Korea, as is the same for many countries.
Official doctrine for the Empire of Korea is to continually support its development.
A stance of non-interventionism is followed. The Zhen is open to cooperation with the ROK and EOK with a common enemy in Japan,
and is willing to see Korea as an equal. However, what happens next between the two nations will depend on the Korean people and government,
and how they choose to pursue future diplomatic efforts.

Japan

Japan is a toughie. The Zhen will never forget Japanese atrocities carried out against them, nor has the island nation ever attempted to make amends.
Since 1895, there has been a nationalist disdain for Japan, which has carried on for decades.
Whether it is a dispute over the Diaoyu Islands or the Yasukuni Shrine, popular outlook towards Japan is likely to remain antagonising and distasteful.
Official doctrine is to treat Japan as an economic partner. A stance of non-interventionism is followed. Japan, with her industrial prowess and wealth,
is going to become a rich counterpart to the Zhen in future trade and investment. Hence, all steps should be taken to ensure the continuance of the
status quo, if not more amenable diplomatic terms.

UPA

Official doctrine is to treat UPA as an economic partner. A stance of non-interventionism is followed.

TSPR

The TSPR, being a socialist nation largely in agreeance with the Zhen, is a pivotal component in the Zhen's Thailand policy.
Official doctrine is to continually assist the TSPR in aspects such as modernisation, liberalisation, and militarisation. A stance of non-interventionism is followed.
Being economically intertwined with one another, the Zhen will continue economic cooperation with the TSPR. The signing of the Pyongyang Accords FTA
is likely to boost cross-border trade, as is the Zhen's provision of economic support to small businesses. More help will be granted,
in order to bring its valued ally into its rightful spot under the international limelight.

Siam

Official doctrine is to continually assist the Kingdom in aspects such as modernisation, liberalisation, and militarisation.
A stance of passive interventionism is followed. The Zhen wishes to cultivate more ties with Siam, but the stationing of foreign troops on Siamese soil
is cause for security concern. Long-term plans should be made, in order to balance the Zhen's economic opportunities with Siam with security needs.

Kra

See: Operation Albatross

The Middle East

Official doctrine is to continually assist the Middle East in achieving stability and economic strength. A stance of non-interventionism is followed.
The Zhen aims to secure a steady supply of oil, especially from major oil-producing nations such as Persia or Iraq, to fuel its economy and supply its strategic stockpiles.
