Bergonnia for Prime Minister of the New Western Atlantic

A lot of debate has been going on about who should be he next PM of the NWA. The answer is myself, Bergonnia.

While my opponents, with good intentions, wish to propose complex plans to increase bureaucracy and expand the power of the Prime Minister, i wish to keep things simple. A sleek, well oiled machine that will keep the NWA moving forward, just as it has been in the year and a half i have been here. Here is not how i intend to act as your PM, but how i WILL act.

Ministries: The ministers are elected by the people, as a result they are accountable to the people. I will NOT micromanage the ministers. They will fulfill their duties in accordance with their popular mandates. I will NOT intervention and enforce my will, even if i disagree with them. The only interventions will be in issues of regional security (things such as puppet raids, trolls, or enforcement of court orders.)

Senate: The senate will remain as the voice and will of the people. I will only use my veto on the most absurd of laws (things equivalent to abolishing the constitution). Otherwise i will dutifully enforce the laws created by the senate. As a long time senator, and one of the chief supporters of the creation of the senate, I understand its importance, and so will not interfere.

Courts: The court's will retain their full autonomy from me. Even if i may disagree with their rulings, I will enforce them. If a justice resigns or i otherwise removed from the bench, I will appoint moderates in a fair system that ensures that no one ideology has the majority, and so all aspects of the law are looked at. I will listen to the court's recommendations to make their own systems better and more efficient.

Monarchy: I will continue to be a staunch supporter of the Monarchy, and its newest member. I will work diligently with them to ensure that the Region continues to grow and remain active.

Rights: I will continue to protect the rights of individuals, especially their free speech rights. I will never suppress for personal or political reasons, only in accordance with NS site rules and NWA Laws.

These are my pledges to you, the people. Where the two main parties, while full of good people, fight in petty squabbles due to their ancient rivalry, i will transcend the party lines and work with ALL members of the region, regardless of party background or affiliation. Activist, Constructivist, RFP, DSP, Lib-Dem, all are welcome. ALL will be assimilated as we are all together. Only by looking both ways, and taking the middle path can we achieve something more.
