[DEFUNCT] Folgorian Armada Armaments

Folgorian Armada ships are littered with high-powered armaments capable of destroying similarly-sized targets while defending the ship’s crew and chassis. In order to understand the power of these weapons, a list is included below, along with a TNT level comparison when necessary.

Point-Defense Turrets: These turrets are designed to eliminate blind spots in a ship’s line of fire. Point-defense guns fire high-caliber munitions in a high-density spread, and are able to wipe out fighters or large munitions attempting surface runs.

Shot: 150mm Magshot rounds
Range: 300 yds.
Rate of Fire: 900 rpm

Mine Launchers: Folgorian mine launchers project mines in an extending screen in order to protect ships from fighter attacks. Mine launchers can be coordinated to create a screen on one side of the ship, or be projected around the ship to protect it on all sides. Mine screens are the most effective a few seconds after launch before they begin to drift. A full battery of mine launchers holds up to 500 mines.

Shot: Folgorian IS-Mines
Yield: 100 kg. TNT
Range: 300 yds.
Rate of Fire: 2 rps

Missiles: Folgorian ship-based missiles are produced in two varieties: ship-to-ship and ship to surface. Ship-to-ship missiles are capable of tracking ships based on their heat and emissions signature, as well as laser-based targeting systems. Ship-to-surface missiles rely solely on laser targeting and are much less maneuverable than ship-to-ship varieties, but come in higher destructive grades. A missile launcher holds ten missiles, while a missile deck holds twelve.

Shot: Folgorian Ship-to-Surface or Ship-to-Ship Missile
Yield: 1 ton TNT (Ship) or 2 ton TNT (Surface)
Range: 1,550 mi. in-atmosphere (out of atmosphere, the missile can travel until its fuel runs out)
Rate of Fire: 2 rps

Light Plasma Cannons: Light plasma cannons are the least damaging Folgorian plasma artillery, and are generally only used on smaller ships due to their comparative weakness to other plasma armaments.

Shot: Plasma Slug
Yield: 250 kg. TNT
Range: 20 mi.
Rate of Fire: 450 rpm

Heavy Plasma Cannons: Heavy plasma cannons are the most common capital ship armament due to their damage and low rate of power consumption. A battery of heavy plasma cannons is comprised of ten cannons each.

Shot: Plasma Slug
Yield: 11 ton TNT
Range: 50 mi.
Rate of Fire: 360 rpm

Ultra-class Plasma Cannon: The Ultra-class cannon is the most devastating piece of plasma artillery owned by the Folgorian military. They can only be mounted on capital ships due to their massive power requirements.
Shot: Plasma Slug
Yield: 44 tons TNT
Range: 100 mi.
Rate of Fire: 120 rpm

ISBM: The ISBM is a nuclear weapon designed to be launched in space from a capital ship.

Shot: Inter-Spatial Ballistic Missile
Yield: 50 Mt TNT
Range: 6,000 mi.
Rate of Fire: 1rps

Gamma-class Plasma Cannon: The Gamma-class fires a colossal plasma slug capable of reaching targets within atmosphere.

Shot: Plasma Slug
Yield: 2 kt TNT
Range: 400 mi.
Rate of Fire: 120 rpm

Beta Cannon: While Ultra-class plasma cannons are the most powerful pieces of plasma artillery owned by the Folgorian military, the Beta Cannon is the most powerful weapon ever built. Capable of obliterating a city with one blast, most capital ships are only budgeted three to four shots with the cannon due to its unprecedented power consumption. Three shots is always enough.

Shot: Plasma Beam
Yield: 100 Mt TNT
Range: 1,500 mi.
Rate of Fire: 1 rpm

Folgorian Shielding Technology: Due to the extremely powerful weapons that have been developed by the Folgorian military, it is clear that ships require enough protection to withstand damage of this level. After the conflict with Uldmanon, Folgoria advanced quickly in shielding technology to produce the devices that protect our ships today.

Folgorian shields are composed of two levels of protection:
--The Mechanical level, which is comprised of tough capital ship reflective armor, fire-suppressant and repairative foams, point-defense turrets, minesweepers, interceptor missiles, defensive lasers, and electronic countermeasures. These are all material defenses designed to stop attacks from reaching the surface of the ship.

--The Projected level, which comprises of charged electromagnetic fields that can deflect lasers and plasma blasts or reduce the amount of damage suffered by the ship.
