Overview
The Land Forces are the land contingent of the Brulafi Revolutionary Defense Forces. The army is administered from the Defence Ministry Building in Victoria under the Minister of Defence. The professional acting head of the army is the State President, unlike the Red Guards, which answer directly to the Directing Committee of the People's Congress Party of Brulafi.
The army and other branches of the armed forces swear allegiance to the Constitution and the People of the People's Republic of Brulafi, and primarily serve to protect these people. The army also swears allegiance to the State President, although their oath to the Constitution and People supersedes that oath and laws prohibit the State President from using the armed forces as his own personal army. Commands are usually made through the Ministry, and the General Assembly must approve a budget for the army every year.
In peacetime, the army acts as assistants to the Border and Maritime Forces and the Police if necessary and if authorized by the General Assembly.

Organization
The Brulafi Revolutionary Defence Land Forces relies primarily on a doctrine described as "Total Defence". This doctrine stipulates that, if a superior enemy force is to invade Brulafi, then all the branches of the military are to cooperate together as units attached together, with air wings moving in sync with attached infantry units. The goal of this tactic is to bring the whole of the country to bear on any invader, with the conventional military moving as a rapid response unit to any threat crossing the border and with the general population enlisted to act as guerrilla fighters in order to wear down any invader who occupies Brulafi territory. This technique was developed as a result of successful partisan resistance to Magarati Empire invading forces during the Imperial war. In accordance with this doctrine, the country is organized into three military regions, which are further divided into districts responsible for administrative tasks such as draft registration, mobilization, and construction and maintenance of military facilities. Due to the mobile nature of the army, however, these districts mainly function only in peacetime and are designed to be changed or even dissolved entirely in accordance with whatever the current military threat may be.
