TV shows from Voxija

Ganetxa
Rating: 4 stars.
A show about a heroine in Voxijan mythology. It showcases all of Ganetxa's adventures in mythology and some adventures that the producers invented. Voxijans are just glad there's a TV show about her, even though Viņak is spelled "Vinak". This show is in its fourth season.

Deadecca
Rating: 4.8 stars.
This show was made in the nineties. The darkly humorous adventures of an innocent little girl who lives in a cemetery and might be a zombie. Deadecca has two sidekicks: Bones, a skeleton dog; and Aitx, the undertaker. Only lasted two seasons, but has a large cult following among Americans online. Features gratuitous English a lot. Deadecca fights crime! There are lots of highbrow literary references. Often compared to Neil Gaiman and Tim Burton.

Does She Look Like a Fourth Grader?
Rating: 2.5 stars.
A very strange game show. There are three pictures, one of a fourth grader and two of kids that are of different ages but look like fourth graders. Contestants have to guess which one is the actual fourth grader to win money and progress to the next round. The mysterious "producers", who are just silhouettes on a screen, host the show and heckle the contestants. Often has celebrity guests, like Bixenta Agirre. A zombie show that's been around for nine years despite mediocre ratings.

Awesome History People
Rating: 3.5 stars.
Awesome History People is a set of kid-friendly biographies about great people in history, like Koldon Ibarra, Nara Eturrija, and Ander Gebara. Since this is a Voxijan TV show, the focus is more on Voxijan history, although other countries and peoples are represented very well.

TV shows about Voxija

The Viņaks
Rating: 1 star.
A cruddy sensationalist TV show that only aired in Finland and Sweden during the fifties. It can be described as a dumb "anthropology" show that showed the indigenous Viņak people as savages and ripoffs of Native Americans. The show was cancelled after two episodes for sexual explicitness. Also, they spelled it "Vinjak".

War of Independetzija
Rating: 3 stars.
This American show features bad history. It is supposedly about the Voxijan War of Independence, but the makers got several major facts wrong. For instance, Koldon Ibarra (the George Washington equivalent) did not have a love interest during the war (he married after the war ended), especially not a steamy "Viņak" (the show treats the Viņaks more like Native Americans [and spelled it Viniac]) love interest who dances topless for the Underground Army! This show is watched mostly by people outside of Voxija, especially people with a casual interest in history.

Pilota
Rating: 4 stars.
An anime series from Japan and aired in 2013. It was a sports anime set in a Voxijan private school about a sports team that played Basque pilota. This anime briefly increased popularity of Basque pilota in Japan from zero to slightly popular.

Voxijan Films

The Voxijan film industry is quite small, and movies are mostly made by independent filmmakers who make movies with very small budgets. It is rare for a Voxijan movie to become known outside of Voxija, at least to a general audience, although some Voxijan movies have appeared in international film festivals. Voxijans often watch the same movie multiple times while it is still in theaters.

Films from Voxija

Proudly Whatever!
Rating: 4 stars.
This movie was made by Mikele Etxeberrija, the famous Voxijan singer and spokeswoman for trans issues, in 2016. It is about a third-gender person who comes to terms with their new identity. This movie was the top-grossing LGBT-themed Voxijan film when it first came out, but recently, it has become controversial for the fact that Etxeberrija herself, a proud trans woman, played the non-binary main character.

Intergalactic Shipping Company
Rating: 4.5 stars.
A critically acclaimed animated kids movie that also gained good profits at the box office. It's about two aliens who are tasked by the Intergalactic Shipping Company to infiltrate another company to steal plans for their product. Essentially, this movie is about corporate espionage. You know, for kids! Was awarded Best Children's Film at the Actopolis Film Festival, because it was the only children's film.

No One Knows
Rating: 4.3 stars.
An indie film that became a sleeper hit, getting 80 million dollars on a 1 million dollar budget. Also appeared in the Actopolis Film Festival, and was nominated for Best Actress. The story is about a girl named Sofija who has to choose between two guys and deal with her final year of high school, while her sister tries to figure out if her cat is speaking in words.

The Talking Baby vs. the Giant Octopus
Rating: 1.3 stars.
One of the worst movies ever made in Voxija. An unfunny nightmare that has no real action and no real jokes. Cost 20 million to make and garnered 5 million, a loss of 15 million. Most people who saw it came expecting a dumb action movie or a bad movie to tear apart, but they left the theater bored. This is the sort of dreck Voxijan movie theaters get in January.

Films about Voxija

A Voxijan Film
Rating: can you have negative stars?
In 1979, a horrible film was made about Voxija called A Voxijan Film. Oddly, it wasn't filmed in Voxija, but Kauai, Hawai`i. Only the director was Voxijan, and she left Voxija and made this movie because she hated Voxija. Most Voxijans haven't heard of this movie. The plot goes like thus: an angry Voxijan teen decides he hates Voxija. He begins burning down buildings, hallucinates unicorns, and tries to seduce his mother. In the climax of the film, he tries to burn down a government building and succeeds. The main character was never named.

Films made by Voxijans but Produced Outside Voxija

Bloodbroken
Rating: 4 stars.
This movie about the Spanish Civil War was the Oscar winner for Best Foreign Film in 2014. Filmed in Spanish, it was directed by a Voxijan, Morris Inetxaga, who moved to Spain, learned Spanish, and then directed this movie. That was the only time a film directed by a Voxijan won an Oscar.

Voxijan Literature

Literature from Voxija

Generosity and Unselfishness
Rating: 3.8 stars.
In the Voxijan Enlightenment, many authors wrote stories to try and figure out the Voxijan spirit. All are forgotten, except this one. It is the story of a widower who marries a young illegitimate girl who got raped by an evil prince and was accused of murdering her baby. The widower loves the girl and when he dies, he gives her all his property, to use as she will.

Evard the Ship's Cat
Rating: 4 stars.
A popular series about a Vurilese cat kept on a ship in the Voxijan navy who gets into battles and adventures. This series was first published in the fifties as children's literature, but it has become acknowledged as a modern classic. This series was really popular in the Soviet Union for some reason, and it is still popular in Russia.

Two Hens in a Hen Coop
Rating: 4.2 stars.
A Voxijan murder mystery that propelled the writer Argi Terraneja to stardom in 1992. A period piece taking place in the 1910s, the novel is known for its shocking twists and the fact that no one can predict who the murderer was.

Literature about Voxija

Tintin In Voxija
Rating: 1.5 stars.
Tintin is literature! Even this Tintin. This is a crummy story about Tintin's adventures in the untamed wilderness of Voxija, where he encounters a strict racial hierarchy between Basque and Viņak (but they spelled it Vignak) and a backward monarchy. The problem is that the comic book was first drawn in the thirties, the monarchy was abolished in 1919, and the Voxijan population is thoroughly mixed. Yeah.

Voxijan Music

Voxija has a thriving music industry. Most famous Voxijan artists have performed in WorldVision in the past. Since Voxija stopped participating in WorldVision, no one listens to our songs.

This is the Voxijan national anthem. It was written during the War of Independentzija by Koldon Ibarra.

Voxa el-Rashid
Rating: 3.5 stars.
A singer who was Voxija's first entry in WorldVision. She isn't famous anymore, alas. Her most famous songs include "It Wasn't Real" and "I am Here", both of which she entered in WorldVision. In fact, "It Wasn't Real" was Voxija's first WorldVision entry.

Jason All This Time
Rating: 2.5 stars.
A Voxijan band that isn't famous anymore. A notable song they wrote is "Keep On Dancing", which was entered into Voxija's second WorldVision.

klark
Rating: 3.8 stars.
This singer, whose name is always spelled that way, is still popular. His song "Remnants" garnered Voxija's highest place in WorldVision, twelfth place. The singer klark is known as an icon of the disillusioned.

Mikele Etxeberrija
Rating: 4.2 stars.
An important Voxijan singer and spokeswoman for trans issues. Her song "I'm Who I Am", Voxija's last WorldVision song, became an anthem for the Voxijan LGBT community. Mikele also directed Proudly Whatever!, a movie whose description can be seen above.

Kasija Rurredo
Rating: 2.1 stars.
A washed-up former pop singer. In her heyday, she recorded many hits, especially the feel-good song "Me, the Tree". Kasija worked as a waitress and burnt down a tree, earning jail time.

Rating: 4.5 stars.
Born Ikerne Eturria, Zillion Kal Profit is a Voxijan rapper who became famous on Tik Tok. Zillion Kal Profit, or ZKP, is known for her curly hair and her songs about money. Her top song, "Money Txala Money", got 200 million listens overall.

Music about Voxija

Pawns in the Chess Game by Simon and Garfunkel
Rating: 2.5 stars.
This song, recorded in the 70s, used the Indigenous Voxijan instrument called the Ngilk. Voxijans protested, saying these Americans were stealing their culture. Nothing came of that and the song faded into history.

Me in Voxija by Trinity Skye
Rating: 3 stars.
A country song made about Voxija in the nineties. Didn't become popular at all, since no American studio was willing to air a song about some Basque island in the middle of nowhere, but those who've heard the song say it's pretty catchy.
