Concepts

Res sapiens
- Terms used within the domains of science and politics to point to those "assimilated" to the biological mainstream of the IOGS. Depending on context, the C. stands for either Civis (citizen) or Consanguineus (consanguineous) - sometimes both (with particularly non-canonical but flattering interpretations including Caeligenus - "heaven-born", among others). Individuals belonging to this classification are characterized principally by integration of Lifewave technology (for which, see below) into their physiology, and their capability of procreating among themselves despite appearing to be of different species.
→ Allkind (Japanese 全類 Zenrui, Latin Omnigenus n.) - Term treated as a collective noun for all individuals of the IOGS and/or C. imperialis origin.
→ "Person" (Japanese 「人」 "Hito", Latin "Persona" f.) and "human" (Japanese 「人間」 "Ningen", Latin "Humanus" m.) - Changes in sociological contexts mandated shifts in vocabulary and usage. "Person" now points to any sentient individual. "Human", "man" and other related terms are sometimes treated with applicability just as wide, but whose usages are sometimes also used to point to the specific "baseline humans", i.e. those that most resemble the standard H. sapiens - more often reserved for such individuals not under IOGS jurisdiction and not assimilated into the C. imperialis mainstream.

- The lack of aging, disease and true cessation of life means the definition of "death" has, as with certain other words in the vocabulary of [THE CURRENT YEAR], changed. In the current epoch, "death" is considered a long, sleep-like state of slumber that comes as a voluntary choice by those who have lived what they considered a satisfying life with little to no regret left. In this state, their subconsciousness lives on as souls. Such persons can choose to come back to life after some quick paperwork, or "move on and reincarnate".

Day-of-the-week, day-month-year
- How dates are organized by heads of the IOGS. The years revolve around the traditional East Asian sexagenary calendar cycle, with "YY:YY" displayed in an almost clock-like fashion: the latter two goes from 00 to 59, and the former numbers the cycle, with the cycles themselves treated akin to centuries in popular consciousness (but shorter, lasting for only 60 years each). Example: 79:04 marks five (5) years after 78:59.

- Erstwhile technology, current biological trait, the Lifewave of each C. imperialis undergoes natural development while they are still in their embryonic stage. Essentially synchronizes people as bodies of computers, with their subconsciousness the CPU (in a sense). Usage of Lifewave functions (such as control of tabs and screens, materializing or digitalizing and storing objects away in folders, search functions, etc) are taught by parents to their children at a young age. Considered as integral as any other biological function one may have. In current usage, the term "Lifewave" usually refers to the screens and tabs themselves. The same term also refers to the type of energy which stems from the same ancient technological advancement, and now sees overwhelming dominance in applications and usages for everyday life.

→ Psychography (Japanese 念写 Nensha, Latin Psȳchographia f., Greek Ψῡχογρᾰφῐ́ᾱ f. Psūkhographíā) - Enabled by the Lifewave, the technique allows graphic(al) materialization of thoughts onto visible surfaces, whether they are Lifewave screens or solid planes. An alternative to handwriting and typing, and an art tool option.

(Japanese 気 Ki)[???] (rooted in physical strength, or integrated in other elements) - As an effect, the link established by the Lifewave between individuals and their subconsciousness grants them access to magic. As with any other trait such as physical strength or intelligence, propensity towards it varies between individuals.

- Named for the nominal central state religion (itself dubbed Imperial Godway, Japanese 聖制神道 Seisei Jindō, Latin Deivia Imperialis f., Greco-Latin Theodus Imperialis f.). Centered around paying respects to the plethora of "everyday deities", who coexist with man in physical or other planes. Has overall significant grassroots origins.

- Conceptual evolution of the Internet, adapted for Lifewave (which, see below).

Usage note: Common usage has assigned preferred meanings to the Japanese terms: 互連網 Gorenmō, or its derivative 連網 Renmō, is understood as the name of the Interrete as a whole. Meanwhile, 接網 Setsumō often indicates the connection. The two terms are, however, perfectly interchangeable.

- Not to be confused with planet, universe, or other non-administrative usages of the term world. Different levels of space-time and relative dimensions, organized for administrative purposes and to account for the different natures of each such "space" (e.g. an isolated patch of cyberspace, a flat contiguous world located in a void, interconnected space, etc). Sootheresses
- Minor goddess-like entities with a permanent passive influence on people, driving their subconsciousness towards being "well-meaning", a trait retained in descendants [cf. Lamarckian inheritance]. Dissidents consider them to be at least one explanation for the minimization of violent insurgencies against the IOGS. Vary in shapes, sizes, and spans of effect - could be anyone from forest spirits, space spirits, goddesses, the spirits of planets and Worlds themselves, etc. Populations belonging to this category are perceived by the general population as among the most pleasant people to be around with. Warrior Orders
- Autonomous organizations linked to the Defense Forces with strict codes of conduct and harsh training procedures that produce super-soldiers. Known for sometimes doubling as charity organizations, especially in war zones. Frequently the "offensive" to the standard Defense Forces' "defensive". Among other things, criticized for being "violent goody-two-shoes" and "charities/nurseries with ammunition". Certain warrior orders of note include the Order of the Skull (Japanese 髑骨団 Dokkotsudan, Latin Ōrdō Calvāriae m.) and the Phantom Volunteers (Japanese 玄霊義団 Genrei Gidan, Latin Voluntarii Phantasmatis m. pl.).

- A term referring to a cult, as well as the loose collection of organizations associated with it. Characterized by active malevolence, Assarrus perpetrates various acts of physical and psychological harm against followers and non-followers alike.

- Central and sole deity of Assarrus, the worship of whom entails the complete removal of happiness, and pushing all into agony and despair. As it does not recognize the legitimacy of any other deity, its primary agenda is to eradicate all other presences considered "deities" by any means necessary.

C. imperialis m./f. (Japanese 制民 Seimin or 制同 Seidō) or (rarer/unofficial) C. universalis m./f. (Japanese 普民 Fumin or 普同 Fudō)
- Terms used within the domains of science and politics to point to those "assimilated" to the biological mainstream of the IOGS. Depending on context, the C. stands for either Civis (citizen) or Consanguineus (consanguineous) - sometimes both (with particularly non-canonical but flattering interpretations including Caeligenus - "heaven-born", among others). Individuals belonging to this classification are characterized principally by integration of Lifewave technology (for which, see below) into their physiology, and their capability of procreating among themselves despite appearing to be of different species.
→ Allkind (Japanese 全類 Zenrui, Latin Omnigenus n.) - Term treated as a collective noun for all individuals of the IOGS and/or C. imperialis origin.

- How dates are organized by heads of the IOGS. The years revolve around the traditional East Asian sexagenary calendar cycle, with "YY:YY" displayed in an almost clock-like fashion: the latter two goes from 00 to 59, and the former numbers the cycle, with the cycles themselves treated akin to centuries in popular consciousness (but shorter, lasting for only 60 years each). Example: 79:04 marks five (5) years after 78:59.

"Death" (Japanese 「死」 "Shi", Latin "Mors" f.)
- The lack of aging, disease and true cessation of life means the definition of "death" has, as with certain other words in the vocabulary of [THE CURRENT YEAR], changed. In the current epoch, "death" is considered a long, sleep-like state of slumber that comes as a voluntary choice by those who have lived what they considered a satisfying life with little to no regret left. In this state, their subconsciousness lives on as souls. Such persons can choose to come back to life after some quick paperwork, or "move on and reincarnate".

Godway (Japanese 神道 Jindō, Latin Deivia f., Greco-Latin Theodus f.)
- Named for the nominal central state religion (itself dubbed Imperial Godway, Japanese 聖制神道 Seisei Jindō, Latin Deivia Imperialis f., Greco-Latin Theodus Imperialis f.). Centered around paying respects to the plethora of "everyday deities", who coexist with man in physical or other planes. Has overall significant grassroots origins.

Interrete n. (English IPA /ˌ ɪntəˈ ɹiː ti/, Japanese 互連網 Gorenmō or 接網 Setsumō - clippings of archaic 相互連接網 Sōgo Rensetsu-mō and 網間接続網 Mōkan Setsuzoku-mō, respectively)
- Conceptual evolution of the Internet, adapted for Lifewave (which, see below).

Lifewave (Japanese 生（き）波 Ikinami, Latin Vitunda f.)
- Erstwhile technology, current biological trait, the Lifewave of each C. imperialis undergoes natural development while they are still in their embryonic stage. Essentially synchronizes people as bodies of computers, with their subconsciousness the CPU (in a sense). Usage of Lifewave functions (such as control of tabs and screens, materializing or digitalizing and storing objects away in folders, search functions, etc) are taught by parents to their children at a young age. Considered as integral as any other biological function one may have. In current usage, the term "Lifewave" usually refers to the screens and tabs themselves. The same term also refers to the type of energy which stems from the same ancient technological advancement, and now sees overwhelming dominance in applications and usages for everyday life.

→ Nensha or Thoughtography (Japanese 念写 Nensha, Latin Cogitographia f., Greco-Latin Sceptographia f.) - Enabled by the Lifewave, the technique allows graphic(al) materialization of thoughts onto visible surfaces, whether they are Lifewave screens or solid planes. An alternative to handwriting and typing, and an art tool option.
→ Pneuma n. (Japanese 気 Ki) - As an effect, the link established by the Lifewave between individuals and their subconsciousness grants them access to magic. As with any other trait such as physical strength or intelligence, propensity towards it varies between individuals.

- Borrowed from Greek περῐοχή periokhḗ. Different levels of space-time and relative dimensions, organized for administrative purposes and to account for the different natures of each such "space" (e.g. an isolated patch of cyberspace, a flat contiguous world located in a void, interconnected space, etc). Big Brother, also (big) bro or daddy (Japanese 大兄 Taikei or (humorous) any variation of お兄ちゃん （御兄醤） Onii-chan, Latin Frater Magnus m. or Magnifrat(er) m.)
- Legendary founder of the IOGS, and its sole head of state de jure. A revered figure, and linked to an ancient Shogun Taikei (Japanese 大兄将軍 Taikei Shōgun).

Grande Consilium (Japanese 太政官 Daijō-kan, Latin Grande Consilium Civitatis n.)
- Semi-secretive ensemble of the heads of the ministries. Intimately linked to Big Brother.

Soothers (Japanese なだめるもの （宥者） Nadamerumono, Latin Placatrices f. pl.)
- Minor goddess-like entities with a permanent passive influence on people, driving their subconsciousness towards being "well-meaning", a trait retained in descendants [cf. Lamarckian inheritance]. Dissidents consider them at least one explanation for the minimization of violent insurgencies against the IOGS. Vary in shapes, sizes and spans of effect - could be anyone from forest spirits, space spirits, goddesses, the spirits of planets and periochs themselves, etc. Populations belonging to this category are perceived by the general population as among the most pleasant people to be around with. - One of the more prominent financial groups in the IOGS economy. Colloquially termed the Tsunanii Zaibatsu n. (Japanese 維新財閥 Tsunanii Zaibatsu), it was historically established by a certain Sakahara family. Principally known in [THE CURRENT YEAR] for its media projects.

Warrior Orders (Japanese 武士団 Bushidan, Latin Ordines Bellatorum m. pl.)
- Autonomous organizations linked to the Defense Forces with strict codes of conduct and harsh training procedures that produce super-soldiers. Known for sometimes doubling as charity organizations, especially in war zones. Frequently the "offensive" to the standard Defense Forces' "defensive". Among other things, criticized for being "violent goody-two-shoes" and "charities/nurseries with ammunition". Certain warrior orders of note include the Order of the Skull (Japanese 髑骨団 Dokkotsudan, Latin Ordo Calvariae m.) and the Phantom Volunteers (Japanese 玄霊義団 Genrei Gidan, Latin Voluntarii Phantasmatis m. pl.).

Assarrus m. (Japanese 遏砂魯 Assharo)
- A term referring to a cult, as well as the loose collection of organizations associated with it. Characterized by active malevolence, Assarrus perpetrates various acts of physical and psychological harm against followers and non-followers alike.

"One True God" (Japanese 「一真羅」 "Isshinra", Latin "Univerilaus" m.)
"One True Lord" (Japanese 「一真主」 "Isshinshu", Latin "Unus Verus Dominus" m.)
"One God" (Japanese 「一羅」 "Ichira", Latin "Unilaus" m.)
- Central and sole deity of Assarrus, the worship of whom entails the complete removal of happiness, and pushing all into agony and despair. As it does not recognize the legitimacy of any other deity, its primary agenda is to eradicate all other presences considered "deities" by any means necessary.
