Kira I (full name Kira Diterikhs Ferdinand, born 23 February 2001) is the current Queen of Kractero, honorary Commander in-chief to the Kracterian Armed Forces, and an aptitude consultant to Rutger Research Center.

Adopted into the House of Thale, the ruling house of Kractero, she is the youngest child and adopted daughter of Alexander II of Kractero and Mingxia of Zhu. She was adopted from the Anchorage Romanov Orphanage, meaning she has American citizenship, and is a descendant of White Russian General Diterikhs. At the time of her adoption, she was fifth in-line (including her father) to a hypothetical succession, and it was not believed that the succession laws would have to be adjusted to accomadate her. Her father ascended the throne upon the death of his brother in 2005, King Willem II, in the sinking of the cruise ship Golden Journey. Her oldest brother, Prince Willem also died on the boat, which made Kira the hypothetical third in-line to the throne, after her siblings Prince Christian and Princess Minnie. Prince Christian would end up dying in a car crash in Macau in 2010. In 2015, Minnie announced that she had no interest in taking the throne and would prefer to remain in the armed forces, and thus renounced her claim to the throne.

As a result, Alexander II was forced to petition the States General to alter the succession laws to include Kira as a legitimate successor. A regency was established in the event of an early ascension by the now heir presumptive Kira and was planned to be led by Alexander's brother, Count Bernhard of Thale. Kira attended regular public schooling in the Tayouan school district. In 2016, she studied data science in Seattle, Washington, Empire of America, before returning to Kractero. Upon her father's death in the 2017 Flight Kractero 33 crash, Kractero fell under the rule of a regency council led by Count Bernhard. When she turned 18 in 2019, she was officially inaugurated as the Queen of Kractero. Kira's rule came at a time of executive empowerment in the Kracterian government, as since the 1990s the role of the monarch has been increasing. Kira is the first Kracterian monarch to make an official state visit to all major European Communist Bloc nations.

Kira has struggled with depression throughout her life starting from her childhood, due to her experiences in the public schooling system and sexual abuse from her uncle and regent, Count Bernhard. Shortly after her father's death, Kira was found unconscious and unresponsive at the foot of the Vergennes Tower, since then, the nation has poured more resources into mental health awareness.

Kira is an aptitude consultant for Rutger due to her ability to summon living ships. She has an interest in music production, video game design, and is a big fan of Japanese tokusatsu shows.

I. Early Life

Kira was born Kira Diterikhs in Anchorage to a middle class family. Her father's uncle was Mikhail Diterikhs, a White Russian General who operated out of Alaska and died in Shanghai. She was given to the Anchorage Royal Orphanage shortly after birth due to financial troubles, and her biological parents were never again found. She was adopted at age two by then Crown Prince Alexander on a visit as a show of social work and genorisity, with no intention of her ever ascending to the throne.

Rather than employ a governess, her adopted mother Mingxia and King Alexander II's brother, Prince Bernhard, took personal control of the young Kira's learning. She was taught at a young age the piano from her mother and was put into linguistics school as early at the age of five to have her learn the languages of the kingdom and region to a conversational level. Kira is fluent in Dutch, English, Russian, Japanese, Hokkien, Mandarin, and Cantonese, and has limited knowledge in general Romance vocabulary . She can read classical Latin and ancient Greek. In addition to this home learning, she was placed in the Tayouan public schooling system rather than private school as her adopted grandfather wanted to show the improvements and strides made in the education system. Kira grew up knowing of her adopted status and has said she always felt like a black sheep in the family. She was close to all of her elder siblings and remains close to Minnie. After her failed suicide attempt, it was revealed and discovered that Kira was a victim of sexual abuse from Bernhard and his friends within the male nobility, and additionally was frequently bullied in school.

II. Heir Presumptive

During her grandfather's reign, Kira was not a part of the line of succession and was never expected to be, but was technically fourth after her three adopted siblings and father. Her adopted father ascended the Kracterian throne in 2005 when her grandfather and elder brother died on a cruise ship. Heir presumptive Christian was killed in a car accident involving a drunk driver while on vacation in Macau. Minnie, already a decorated service member in the Kracterian military, renounced her rights to the succession, leaving Kira as the only child of Alexander. As a result, the States General passed a law extending the rights to succession to the adopted children of monarchs and their children, but strips and prevents the line from falling to their blood family, or in Kira's case, a minor White Russian nobility.

After her freshman year at high school, her aptitude for science and deductive reasoning was recognized by the University of Washington, one of the most prestigious colleges in the Empire of America. She traveled to Seattle alone with some guards to study data science and also performed in the UW Strings Orchestra. While in America, she visited Anchorage in search of her birth parents, but was distraught when there was no trace of them in Alyeska.

III. Reign

On May 13th 2017, a regularly scheduled flight, Flight Kractero 33, between Tayouan and Kuching carrying King Alexander II for a diplomatic meeting between Kractero and Sarawak had encountered a storm and the pilot swerved off course southward, crashing into the Bornean rainforest. The plane had no survivors. King Alexander II, who was known to fly on occasion with the general populace, was reported officially dead six days later, and a day later on 20 May 2017, the 16 year old Princess Kira was named Queen Kira I, but her uncle, Prince Bernhard, joined her Queen Mingxia in a regency council.

On May 21st 2017, the young Queen was found unconcious of the Vergennes monument, a monument dedicated to French statesman Vergennes that is around the size of a ten story building. She was rushed to the Tayouan hospital, and after a few days of crisis, was discharged from the hospital. While reported as an accident, it was quickly fixed and corrected to a suicide attempt. It is unknown how she survived, as she was found nowhere near anything that could have slowed her descent. Her suicide attempt threw the nation into crisis, as her death would mean the passing of the throne to Bernhard's branch and would break off a direct line from that of the great Charlotte. Shortly after, an investigation by the Kracterian Department of Intelligence and private investigation by her elder sister discovered a long history of sexual abuse from Prince Bernhard and his friends, extending up until she left for America. After a long and publicized trial complete with substantial amounts of evidence, Bernhard and all guilty parties were sentenced to life in prison. Her mother was proven innocent in her lack of awareness and took over the position as regent.

The nation was ready to delay Kira's ascension for her recovery, but she recovered faster than expected and was set to end the regency on her eighteenth birthday. Kira's inauguration took place three days after her eighteenth birthday in a small, untelevised (at her request) ceremony in the traditional coronoation location at Fort Zeelandia.

During Kira's rule, the Asian and East African Free Trade Agreement (AEAFT) was officially signed in 2019, creating a network of free trade for the many nations of the East Pacific and Indian Oceans. Kira reconfirmed the nation's commitment to the Paris Climate Summit, which her father pulled out of due to his criticism of the light terms. In 2019, she met with American prime minister Donald Trump, and was the first Kracterian monarch to do so, as her father never personally met with Trump.

During her reign, the nation has begun foreign commissions of Scheepsmeisje, something criticized by Kracterian nationalists.

III. Political

Policies and Beliefs
Kira is a social liberal, who advocates progressive ideals and values. She employs some social economic policies, but still views big business as more of a boon than a threat.

In civil rights, Kira has supported some of the most individual-empowering legislation in the world. Her rule saw a rolling back of 9-11 policies enacted by her father in the wake of the 9-11 attacks on the United States that curbed some civil liberties. The States General also reduced the scope of government monitoring of the Kracterian internet network. Abuse of minors by adults was banned. Kira is also an ardent believer in abortion's legality and rights for the LGBTQ community. She shares the viewpoint on recreational drugs as her father, that there is no harm in allowing people to possess common drugs, as long as they were obtained through legal means.

In both education and health care, Kira believes that they are both universal rights. Kira has continued the single-payer, universal healthcare system implemented by her father in 2005, and his free college education at most Kracterian colleges. In terms of welfare, Kira differs from her more liberal father, cutting down on some welfare systems and tightening the definition of poverty under Kracterian law, focusing on generating employment opportunities for the poor than government welfare.

Kira is an ardent supporter of environmentalism, but not at the expense of the economy. Environmental regulations on corporations is present, and corporations are given incentives for following these regulations, but there are no severe punishments for failure to do so. However, the government is still a signatory of the Paris Climate Treaty. Kira has continued her father's commitment to have more energy come from renewable sources than fossil fuels and natural gas. Under Kira's rule, breeding programs for the endangered Formosan black bear were given more government funding.

Kira's foreign policy is very internationalist and very anti-war. Under Kira, military spending on the army has been slashed significantly, but naval spending actually increased. Kira believes in diplomacy being a better deterrent to war than a show of force. Her desire to be further integrated into the world is mainly economically motivated, and doesn't come out of her love for foreign affairs.
