Coming into the Second Half of Matchday 1, Goyanes had expectations to make their home crowd very happy. Nyberg and Admusson were both able to score in the big first half for Goyanes to put them up 2-0. The team appeared very jubilant as they came into the next half. And it was clear as they took the field again for the 45th through the 90th Minutes. However, this didn't last for long. Two Predice players were able to find the net in the second half to tie it, then another was able to find the back to take the lead 3-2 for Predice.

Head Coach of Goyanes, Thor Hannan, was visibly disappointed at the second-half performance of the Goyanean team. What stopped this from coming in at number one was the final, tense, last-minute goal from backup striker Odd Opland. When asked about the game, Hannan said, "We need to step up our game. We can't give up. We have to keep on chopping so that we can go far this year. Hype is nothing." The Predice captain stated, "We did very good in the second half of the game, which I am very pleased with. However, the defense could have done better."

Goyanes would go on to win the World Cup and Super Cup, so they took the coach's words to mind.

October 1st, 2018... The Quarterfinals for the World Cup. The Dispersos were going up against the North Prarieans. Territorio di Nessuno comes into the day 2-1-0 with a 2-0 win over British Bayonet, a 6-1 win over Ultimate Byzantine, and a 1-1 draw with Yuubia. They also come off of a runner up after a disappointing World Cup Final against the Hightonians in which they lost 4-0. Meanwhile, North Prarie went 1-1-1 with a 4-1 loss to Highton, a 1-1 draw with Aldion, and a 2-1 win over Triekru. From this point on, the Dispersos are the clear and easy favorite. And it is shown early in the game.

Zayd charged early and scored an easy goal to put the Dispersos up one to nothing. This is what the score looked like for a majority of the game. At the end of the first half, the Dispersos held onto a 1-0 lead. And then, the Prarietopians came out firing at all cylinders and scored two goals from Aaron Hudson and Aaron Pearce. The Dispersos refused to go out quietly, and O. Vert was able to place a ball in the back of the net to knot the game up a 2-2. Then, the ball was moved across the field on the 88th minute. The Dispersos just had to stop one shot and they would go into Overtime.

However, a pass to Thierry Chevalier that probably could've been ruled offsides was given in favor of the Prarietopians, and they took the ball to the net and narrowed it by the Disperso goalkeeper. Nessuno was shocked and the Prarietopians started to believe. The Dispersos could not get a ball in the net in the final minute and the game ended 3-2. The heavily-favorited Dispersos had been eliminated before they could even sniff the finals. The Prarietopians would go on to lose 2-0 to the Atheenians in Added Extra Time to eliminate them.

The Dispersos' humiliating defeat puts them at #14 for the biggest choke moments in sports.

Nessuno blew a 1-0 lead

Day 3 of the North Pacific World Cup. The Deerfenese are hanging on for dear life, and all they need is a win. Meanwhile, the Lancerians to this point, are set to advance. With a 4-2 win over North Armatas recorded as well as a 3-2 win over Andrenne, they were 2-0-0. Meanwhile, the Deerfenese found this as a win or die as they found themselves 1-0-1 with a 4-2 win over Andrenne, but with a 3-0 loss to North Armatas.

They fell behind in the beginning. A goal from the Lancerian Empire was all that was needed to take an early 1-0 lead and take it into halftime. The Deerfenese had to find a way to pull some late-game magic as they had done in the Antiyard Cup and Highton Cup, but they were playing against a powerhouse team that was hot early. The Lancerians have a CEFA World Cup titles under their belt from 2007 and have been ranked #6 in the world. The Deerfenese were outmatched but wanted to make a memory of this game.

Then, they tied the game at 1 apiece in the 60th minute thanks to a goal (49') from substitute Jordan Alexandre. He sprinted around the field with adrenaline. He was mobbed by teammates, and suddenly, fans started to turn their heads to this young squad. Then, in the 90th minute, the chance to win the ballgame emerged when Okeke Matuidi moved to the goal but was fouled. The Deerfenese saw this as a chance to seize their spot into the next round.

Matuidi got set in the box and moved around a little bit. He was set for a penalty to send the Africans through. He was ready for all of that glory to fall on his shoulders. But that all came crashing down when he hit the goalpost. What the ACR needed was a win to send them and Lanceria through. But the missed penalty eliminated their team. That was the biggest disappointment in the history of the Creole Union for football, and that makes our list as #13 for the biggest choke moments in sports.

It's June 16th, 2017. Highton City, Highton, a city known for its soccer. A city that is described as "the soccer capital of the world" by many nations all over Eras. A game of David vs. Goliath is about to take place, but it is also about to be two things; 1. The greatest game that was ever seen by many, and 2. A choking hazard for one of the two involved.

Right off the bat, Vard of Highton tried to go for a shot but just went wide. A little bit later, Prydania was able to score. Bertram Abildgaard was able to score a penalty shot right after he was tackled clumsily by Hightonian midfielder, Percy Gur. Tobias himself jumped out of his shoes in utter excitement. The Prydanian crowd was loud, and they looked ready to shock the world. However, Highton would not stay silent. A free-kick from Alexís, probably the most clutch player in Hightonian history, found the head of Schultz, who was playing his final game of soccer ever and found the net past the Prydanian defenders and goal-keeper. Then, the whistle rang and the end of the first half in the most emotional game ever seen was signified.

In the second half, Prydania came with a new fire. But, that wasn't before Vard came up for one more shot, but just missed it high and above the bar. They took the lead in the 70th minute with Abildgaard's shot being scattered by John Checker for Peter Bach to tap it into the goal. Prydania now had a 2-1 lead because of the crucial error. However, Highton battled back. Alexís, once again, was able to make a shot, this time making his way past defenders and going for the goal. Cocos Park erupted and it was loud. Then, they had to go to Extra Time, but nobody could muster anything sending the game to penalties.

Prydania was able to hit three of five shots. Bertram Abildgaard made the first. However, when they had the advantage when Joseph Vard of Highton hit his shot, the advantage disappeared. Peter Bach missed his shot, and then Jordaan Brown of Highton scored. Then, Kurt Mřrch and Iago Cornes made their shots knotting the shootout 2-2. Then, Ernst Beck was next up for Prydania. His shot was saved. Fernando Rossi then gave Highton a 3-2 lead. However, Prydania stayed alive. Kristoffer Krog was able to make his shot, but then the hero of the game, Alexís, came up. The hopes of Prydania fell on Alexís to miss. However, he buried the shot giving Highton their fourth championship, and leading Prydania thinking what could've been.

The parade the next day celebrating the Hightonian team was the biggest in Hightonian history. Millions gathered in the capital to celebrate their team. Prydania was met by their king, who had kind words that the media was not allowed to hear. Both teams played their hearts out, making it a shame that we can name Prydania's loss as a choke.

The stage is set. The best of the best had been going for around a month, and now, the classic was down to two; the Isobanians, and the Yuno. They started their road with a 4-2 win in the qualifier over Lapathiya. Yuno had shocked the world to even get past Group D. However, they went 3-0 in that group to move onto Valoria. They had a combined ERA of 1.75, they scored 21 runs, and they gave up a mere 7 runs. They defeated Lungha 6-2 in Game 1, the Block 10-5 in Game 2, and Aerilia 5-2 in Game 3. Then, they continued to surpass expectations when they won Group B by going 3-0 with a combined ERA of 2.33, scoring 13 runs, and only allowing 7 runs in the group. They defeated Isobania in Game 1 2-1, they defeated Dellonland in Game 2 3-1, and then they defeated a fierce Lunghan team 9-5 in a back-and-forth affair of a rematch. Then, they pulled up into Freetown and took down the host, African Strand 2-0 behind a stellar pitching performance.

Isobania had been ranked #1 in the country for years. Very fitting that they were one of the co-hosts of the tournament. They were drawn into a group with Dellonland, Western Vapia, and their biggest rival, Miruma. They swept that group going with a 2.50 ERA and outscoring opponents 25-10. They bested Miruma 8-5 in Game 1, Dellonland 7-4 in Game 2, and Vapia 10-1 in Game 3. Then, they moved onto Group B in the next stage. There, they lost Game 1 to Yuno 2-1. Then, they took out Lungha and Dellonland 14-1 and 9-2 respectively. Because of this, the reached second place in Group B with an ERA of 1.67, allowing 5 runs, and scoring 24. Then, in their semifinal game against Asthea, they mixed strong pitching with dominating hitting to assert their dominance over the Astheans.

So, that set up this ballgame. And right out of the gate, Yuno shocked all 25,000 in the stadium in Freetown as well as billions all over the world. A lead-off solo home run from the captain brought many to their feet and gave Yuno a 1-0 lead. As soon as Yuno grabbed that lead, they refused to let it go. Strong pitching from both the Yuno ace and the Isobanian ace, Stephen Thorne, kept both offenses at bay. However, in the top of the fourth, Ryan Virtudes was able to tie the ballgame up at 1-1 with a solo home run. And with that, the defense and the pitching seemed to increase.

1-2-3, good morning-good afternoon-good night, innings continued to roll. Then, in the top of the eighth, Yuno had two on. And a clutch single up the middle gave them a 2-1 lead. And they held that score. With the final strikeout over Jason Stewart, Yuno had the right to hold the trophy high.

Yuno defied all odds to win a championship, but the Isobanians, the heavily favored, choked. For this reason, this makes the list at #11.

It's Round 1 of the FIDAC Winner's Cup between the #5 team in the world, Elysium Eagles FC, taking on the #23 team in the world, the Bishop's Club. For the Elysium Eagles, this year was championship or bust. They were the first in their league, and by everyone's standards, they were a world better than Bishop's. They had been in the top 5, meaning that they were able to skip the preliminary round. The Bishop's Club, on the other hand, came from Macau (COR)'s Division 1 Premier League. They finished the year 9-1-0 with their only loss coming to Sahara City FC. Before this game, they had edged out a strong Norlock FC team 1-1 in aggregate.

Leg 1 started out with a bang for the Bishop's Club. Naevius Nero began the game with a goal in the 2nd minute. The Bishop's Club did not let up, either. Two more goals from Augustinus Claudius and Chassa Yao, the young football prodigy, placed the Bishop's Club on top of the Elysium Eagles 3-0 before halftime. Both teams left the field for the locker room in a different spot and mindset than they came in with. The Eagles were shocked, Bishop's was ahead 3-0. Both teams came back on a mission. And to seal that goal, Chassa Yao was able to place another one in the back of the net to place the Bishop's Club in a 4-0 driver's seat. Le Stade de Triomphe went silent and Bishop's was soaring. That's how the game ended. Bishop's had taken the first leg 4-0. Now, if the Eagles want a chance to move on, they need to score 4 or more in the Central Osean Republic.

The Second Leg started out differently in Saly. The Elysium Eagles FC were able to score first to inspire a form of confidence in their team. The score was 1-0 in the second leg, but 4-1 overall. Confidence could be sensed throughout the stadium. However, it didn't last long, and 14-year-old Chassa Yao made sure of it. He made his way from coast-to-coast after a save from his goalkeeper, traveled past key figures on the Eagles, and shot a ball into the back of the net nearly right after. 5-1 became the score, but the scoreboard read 1-0. Yao made sure to take the hearts and crush it beneath his feet. Another shot was taken but saved and the goalkeeper rolled the ball to Arnook Fields who was able to bring it to midfield and pass it to Yao who was undefended and fired the ball into the back of the net. No more scores occurred in the game, and the Bishop's Club single-handedly humiliated #5 team in the world, which is why this makes the list at #10.
