Korrodosian Aviation Company C-142 “Cargojumper”


Abstract: The Imperial Marine Corps requirement for an advanced medium transport in 1965. The LVT XC-142 was tendered and accepted following its successful transition from vertical to forward flight. The development of the aircraft was taken over by the Korrodosian Aviation Company, who purchased the licence and five prototypes from the LVT company. The KAC then constructed five additional prototypes, adding much research into the development of transitional aircraft over the next five years. In December of 1970 the first operational squadron, 1113th Medium Transitional Aircraft Squadron stood up. The C-142 now primarily sees service in reserve units, being replaced by the larger MV-44 Pegasus. This aircraft however played a critical role in the acceptance of transitional aircraft in the Korrodosian Military.
