Target
    Myanmar

Cause

Political Intrigue between Bangladesh and Zhen - Bangladesh promised that the Zhen would receive Kachin State, in exchange for its support and military intervention against Myanmar.
Jiangxinpo Dispute - Jiangxinpo, located within Kachin, was disputed territory between the Zhen and Myanmar until 1961, when the Zhen government recognized Myanmar's sovereignty over it. Many criticized the Zhen government for signing the agreement, which they regarded as guaranteeing the permanent loss of former Zhen territory to Myanmar.
Humanitarian Grounds - Myanmar had murdered Bengali fishermen, were complicit in a genocide against the Rohingya, utilized child soldiers "for as little as $40 and a bag of rice or a can of petrol", practised frequent sexual violence within the military, and was responsible for the displacement of thousands of refugees into the Zhen. The Zhen has an incentive to intervene as to ensure political stability in a volatile region of the country.
