Royale Island

As the name suggests, the Republic of Isle Royale was founded and takes up the large island of Royale. Named after the pirate explorer who discovered the island, Winifred Royal, it was settled slowly over the course of a hundred years or so. Upon the island's secession from the West Pacific Empire, the nation that formed was named after the land it occupied. In the decades since, the Republic of Isle Royale has gained territory on the mainland and on other islands.
