"The Test of Faith" Published, Advocating Deliberately Mixed Policy on Religion

A new text has been published into the fraught discourse over faith in Polis Diamonil, claiming that religion is the true path of all virtue, but that it's also the true path of all evil. The book expounds a model of faith whereby the perfect path is beset on all sides by dangerous corruptions which will misuse any trust that they are given. The titular test of faith of the book is actually the sociologically observed rate at which religious faith is improperly exploited for power over others. "The purer a nation is, the more it can trust in the words of others without dire consequences," the author notes. "Nations which do not take the risk of trust cannot learn their own soul. This is the endeavor which matters more than the specific faith that advances in any particular nation."

The author claims to be a member of the Flame of the Myriad, but to have written "with the spirit of the threefold contemplation", and the text avoids specific references to the theology of the Flame. Categorized as non-fiction, The Test of Faith is available in bookstores throughout Polis Diamonil, and has also been distributed to university libraries for shelving in the comparative theology section.
