The legal Black Market

The unusual norm

Khazar lechia has one of the biggest black markets in the region due to their lack of respect to trade-marks and very loose law on copyright which basically is restricted to personal copyright only, without any respect to anyone except the inventor/creator(s) as a person or people.

The black market for the usual native living in the nation is something similar to a huge supermarket chain in another country. If you need something, it's probably there, but not always the best quality, or price. Just as often as supermarkets, in the settlements of Khazar lechia huge buildings marked as "the black market" can be found without any legal opposition from the enforcement and even support from them as stealing from the sellers is just another crime.

Constant copying of outsider technology, with simple as well as complete copies of parts of code of computer programs (including games) and technology is the biggest factor in it. Something important to mention is the fact that the technology and code of all "stolen" electronic-related things is usually improved, or upgraded to fit Khazar lechia better, which ranges from completely translating the code to a khazar lechian language, to completely changing the resources used to produce a phone, to better quality, or cheaper ones which work just as good. It is never downgraded in any meaningful way.

Government's response

The black marketers are supported by the government to a point, as long as they maintain some basic rules:

  • Respect Autarky policy - Believe it or not, the government rarely needs to do anything about this, as the sellers and workers of the black market are well aware of their business being completely illegal in other countries, therefore they do not even expect any help from the government when they break this rule.

  • Respect the rights of the workers - This is from time to time "enforced" to the point of blood and mass shootings, but people choosing to work in the black market usually do it because of the profits and good quality of work, unless they are literally forced to it, in which case the blood and mass shootings are explained.

  • Be pro-national and pro-Khazar - This rule is usually followed easily just by making the products either cheaper or better quality than the original, which only makes it easier for the black marketers. It also somewhat includes the fact no banned products may be sold, but they are not really much of a market, as there isn't really much things banned, including drugs, as at worst the buyer needs a medical prescription and the seller a license, which is easy to obtain and is only a formality.

Other than that the black market poses no problems to Khazar lechian finances, as there is no corporate tax and only a flat income tax equal for all citizens, therefore the country actually profits from it. Some outsiders even think it is a funny seight to see a drug dealer call the enforcement so they arrest a person for not having proper permission to buy drugs.

Anthems of the Black Market:
LinkCzerwone Sk*rwysyny! - aggressive and vulgar slavic anti-communist song
LinkDown with the police! - old Yiddish Jewish anarchist song
