What is manual recruitment?

Manual Recruitment is when a nation, like yourself, telegrams newly found nations with a recruitment telegram. NationStates has implemented a few pieces of quality of life to make this easier. This guide will also cover them.

The Union has a rich democratic tradition dating back to our founding in 2015. There are many elected positions that anyone can run for. The Union has many experienced players eager to lend a hand to new players.

2. In the "To:" box set it to "tag:template" without the apostraphes and then click the drop down arrow to the right of the box and select "this is a recruitment telegram for The Union of Democratic States"

3. Send the telegram, you will receive a code that will look like "%TEMPLATE-00000000%" copy this code in your clipboard and save it as a dispatch, on word, or something else. This code is yours and no one else can use it, and no other nation of your's can use it, it will last for this session of recruiting.

4. Now you want to go to this link New Nations and make a note of newly founded nations. You can do this by opening a text file, (Notepad on Windows, and TextEdit on Mac), copying down all the founded nation names and then uploading that textfile to your advanced dossier.

5. Do not make a note of, or manually recruit to, refounded nations - these will often have Recruitment Telegrams blocked.

6. Once uploaded to your advanced dossier, click on the nation, click on Write Telegram and then paste the Template Code into the textbox.

7. Click Send, do not change the type of telegram it is - the code remembers that it is a recruitment telegram

8. Congratulations, you have now sent a recruitment telegram. Whilst this might seem a bother, manual recruitment has been shown to give the highest recruitment rate of all three and are well worth the time and energy put into them~!

9. Want to see how your batch of manual recruitment is going? Go to Sent Items on your Telegrams tab and click on your most recent sent telegram - this is the template - and at the bottom right of the page click "Recruitment and Delivery Reports".
