The Royal Kanutian Navy

Background
The Navy of The Kingdom of Kanut adopted the legacy of the Paratunkan Navy, becoming among the most powerful in the Eastern Seas.The Paratunkan Navy was orignally created with the intent of protecting Paratunkan Cargo passing through the straights of Avalon. At the time, the Area around the Straights of Avalon were known to be heavily contested by Pirate organizations; some of the best in the Far east. So, in order to ensure that Paratunkan goods could reach the greater west, Ships were designed to handle long range voyages while also dealing with any threats. Overtime, the Navy became a very well renowned institution, commonly associated with the Paratunkan National Identity. So, when the Kingdom of Kanut was created, it inherited a large, powerful Navy.
Kanutian Naval Mission
During the Ergisonian Era, the great influx of wealth permitted the Kingdom to manage a larger fleet; however, the Nation didn't understand why it should continue to maintain such a massive Navy. Grand Admiral Talban Bootyrovich Atasykov provided a justification for the large navy that would be the leading cause of economic prosperity in the Nations of the Davelrontoan Sea. In an address to the Royal Kanutian Council, He pointed out that many Nations east of the Avalon Straights could not afford to maintain a merchant marine to trade with Nations in the west. He also claimed that they couldn't afford to protect this shipping from being attacked or raided by pirates or other Nation states. Furthermore, he proposed that the Kanutian Navy work to ensure that these Nations could use either Kanutian Merchant ships to transport their goods, or have their shipping be protected by Kanutian Warships. This led to the Creation of the Davelrontoan Economic Community, which allowed it's members to have their shipping protected or carried out by Kanut.
Navy Design, 1865
In the Year 1865, the DEC was at it's peak power, creating a unified Merchant Fleet for all of members to use for shipping; additionally, a united Trade Protection Fleet was created to combat the threat of Piracy targeting Davelrontoan Shipping. This further economic integration had never been seen before in the Far east, and it led to the Davelrontoan Sea becoming the Economic Center of the Land. It became land-locked Countries national policies to establish Trade Agreements with the DEC to gain access to western markets. In order to maintain this economic authority and participate in the soon coming scramble for Brurera, the Kanut Navy was Strenghtened. In 1865, the Kanut Navy consisted of 11 Kyppanov Class steam ships of the line, 35 Moskarova Iron clad Warships, 47 Frigates, 34 Corvettes, and 32 Gunboats. This was the Navy just after the Royal Kanutian Council voted in favor of the complete Overhaul of the Navy. Once the proccess of eliminating unfit vessels was over, the Navy would begin Planning the construction of many new modern warships.
