The Great Experiment is a moderately-sized region in NationStates, with a vibrant community and a focus on roleplaying and worldbuilding. We are also a member of the inter-regional alliance known as the URA.

Becoming a Citizen
Any nation in the World Assembly is automatically granted citizenship, meaning they can vote, propose legislation, and run for office. Non-WA members of TGE can be granted citizenship through a referendum.

Where to Roleplay
We do the majority of our roleplay on our Discord server. Note that your NationStates stats don't necessarily reflect your personal worldbuilding (for example, your NS population will likely surpass your desired population when worldbuilding your nation).

The World Map
A link to the regional map can be found in the World Factbook Entry or the Discord server. Stake your claim on the Discord server in the #cartography channel.

Legislative Branch
The Great Experiment practices direct democracy in its legislative system, so any member can propose legislation whereupon legal citizens may vote on it.

Executive Branch
The Great Experiment is ruled by a President (currently: Far Tholk) who is elected every two weeks. Additionally, there is a Foreign Affairs Minister (currently: Pekares) who is in charge of -- you guessed it -- foreign affairs. Contact them for embassy requests or similar inter-regional affairs.

Judicial Branch
Holy Empire of Loaf is the regional judge. If a law is vague or an officer oversteps their boundaries, bring it to their attention on the RMB, by telegram, or via Discord and they shall issue a clarification on it.

Political Parties
Candidates running for office are either nonpartisan (independent) or running on behalf of a party. The current ruling party is the Anarcho-Monarchist Party, who control the Presidency and Foreign Ministry. The Great Experiment currently has three political parties listed by size:

The Fourth Constitution
The Great Experiment loves constitutions so much we wrote four of them! This one was written by Pekares and was ratified on 2 November 2020.

Historical Legislation of TGE
A list of all bills, motions, and amendments brought to the region during the Third Constitution era. Only legislation passed after the Fourth Constitution was ratified are in effect.
