Yunari General Information

Nation Name: Holy Queendom of Yunari
Demonym: Yuna
Government Type: Matriarchal Monarchistic Theocracy

Other Government Info: The strongest female mages are the queens. There are 7 queens who rule over the 7 temples. The Highest Queen rules over the Highest temple, the Second Queen over the Second temple the Third Queen over the Third temple and so on until the Lowest Queen and the Lowest temple. The Queens meet over important matters in the Great Palace which is located in the centre of the capital, the Holy City of Yunaria. The great palace is the most sacred site. Any female Yuna can become a Queen if they beat a current Queen in a magic duel. Men are considered inferior to women due to women being stronger in Magic.

Religion: The religion is based around the Queens. It is believed that proximity to a Queen brings you closer to the Goddesses, who are preside over each Sect of Magic. The sects of magic are fire, water, earth, air, light, dark and aether. The Goddesses have names however a Goddesses name is known only to the Queen who rules over the temple. The temples are selected on each lunar eclipse. The Highest Queen gets to select first, followed by each other queen in order of rank. There are 8 Goddesses, with the Goddess of Magic, who is not limited by sect having the Great Palace itself as a temple. Any Yuna can enter the temple courtyards, but the inner temples are forbidden for men to enter and the sanctum is forbidden for all but the priestesses and Queens to enter. Temple staff must all be female. The 7 rings that encircle the city are considered more holy the closer you are to the Palace.

History: Yunaria was founded by the First Queens who built the Great Palace first, followed by the 7 Temples. Then they built the First Ring around the temples and palaces, followed by the second ring, and so on. The original buildings are perfectly preserved as the Yuna value history as the will of the Goddesses having passed and lust to know more about the world the Goddesses created. Yunari has not been in any major wars or conflicts as it only discovered other nations recently. There have been 133 queens who each have a statue in the Statue Hall of the Great Palace.

Diplomatic Relations: In Yunari, peaceful interactions with other nations are wished for as much as possible, as violence was not how the Goddesses made the world to be. Yunari is eager to find out knowledge that other nations have recieved from the Goddesses.

Capital City: Yunaria contains the entire citizenry, minus those out on expeditions exploring and working in mines and the like. Yunaria is hollowed out of a white granite mountain, with each Ring stepped up by a factor of the previous ring squared metres. (starting at 2) The base of the mountain is left untouched until 500 metres up.

Magic
There are 5 elements of magic, fire, water, earth, air, light dark and aether. Everybody can only use one element, and the element you have is hereditary. (If 2 people of different elements have a child, the element of the child is 50/50 for one of the parents) Aether is used by the fae and those cursed by the fae exclusively, as demonstrated in the First and Second Great Fairy war and the subsequent transformation of some of the population, but the other elements are what you would expect. Fire controls combustion, water controls liquids, air controls gases, and earth controls solids. Those who take the usage of their innate element as their job are called mages, and are highly respected. Mages study at the temple of their element. There is also the research into magic conducted at the House of Scholars.

Leaders: The Queens, as described above each have a board of advisors for each ring, from each ring, who live in each ring.
