Changes to the EHS

One of the Labour parties manifesto pledges was to allow for changes within the Escalver Health Service to expand beyond that of GP services and Hospital triage. Health care in Escalver is free to the point of need, however not in all cases. Today we are announcing a couple of new benefits that all citizens will garner under the Health and Social Act of April 21. Replacing former legislation brought in by the previous Labour Government Health and Social Act of December 20.

Dentistry:

• Dentistry appointments are now free, taking away the £25 fee. (Only if you are registered with an EHS Dentist.)
• If you need dental work, based on your health needs, this work is now free. (Not cosmetic work. Only if you are registered with an EHS Dentist)
• You can now apply for an EHS Dentist. Private dentistry is still available. The EHS Dental register is however limited. See Escalver.gov for more information on this.

Optical:

• Every citizen is entitled to one (1) free eye test a year. Additional tests are now charged at £3 instead of original £25 fee.
• Everyone is entitled to a discount on glasses below the £20,000 individual earnings mark.
• Students and people aged under 18 are entitled to one (1) free test a year and free glasses if required. (Not designer.)

Prescription:

• The prescription charge of £9.50 has been abolished. All prescriptions are now free on the EHS.
• Prescription delivery services are changing. These will no longer be a service provided by the EHS, please see your pharmacist for information and help surrounding this. The last day for a National delivery service on prescriptions is the 31st May 2021.

Everyone in Escalver deserves the best treatment, and most importantly, equal accessibility to that treatment. We as a party and as the government believe that a healthy nation, is a happy nation.

I wish you all the best,
Dr. Cheri Glenn, SoS for Health and Social Care.
