Foreign Relations of Norrho

Norrho and the World

Given the deadlocked state of Norrhan politics, many countries see fault with the rule by emergency presidential decrees exercised by several Norrhan governments, which they consider detrimental to the Second Norrhan Republic's democratic principles. Under various treaties, Norrho accords "de jure" recognition, visa provisions, and permanent communications when establishing diplomatic relations. These agreements also provide for a Norrhan e-residency scheme that allows company formation, online banking, encrypted document exchange, document signing, payment processing, tax declaration, and fulfillment of medical prescriptions through a smart card issued by the Norrhan Ministry of the Interior or at an embassy. Moreover, Norrho has been an avid supporter for regional cooperation and encourages institutions oriented towards free world trade with protectionist measures. Norrhan governments also tend to encourage arbitration, multilateralism, human rights, and the protection of minorities on the world stage.

Norrhan passports are valid for five years from date of issue, unless otherwise endorsed, and are renewable for any period of from one to five years. A passport is not valid beyond ten years from the original date of issue. If there be no further space for new visas, a new passport must be obtained. A passport does not exempt its holder from compliance with any immigration regulations in force in foreign countries being visited, or from the necessity of obtaining a visa when required. A passport cannot be issued or renewed in the Republic of Norrho on behalf of a person already abroad, nor can passports be sent to places outside the Republic of Norrho. As valuable documents, passports should not be allowed to pass into the possession of any unauthorized person. If lost or destroyed, the fact should be immediately reported to the Minister of the Interior or to the nearest Norrhan authority and to the local police authorities. New passports can only be issued in such cases after exhaustive inquiries. Passports that are mutilated in any way, or if any endorsement or addition is made upon them by any person other than a duly authorized official, are liable to be impounded and cancelled. Travelers in foreign countries are warned that with a view to obviating unpleasant incidents, they should retain their passports on their persons at all times, particularly when outside their lodging premises, as they are liable to be called on by the police or other local officials at any time to produce documents for identification purposes. In some countries, the rule that a passport must always be carried on the person of the holder is rigidly enforced.
