The Republic of Molopovia is a democratic nation, surrounded by the seas. It is an archipelago of wonders, filled with forests and beaches. The nation administers 10,000 islands, both large and small. The three main islands are Nabor, Ghulana and Kayker. Malkasivan tribesmen were the first to settle in this land, developing a thriving agricultural society with an exotic culture much similar to other Polynesian cultures.

European colonial powers have been thought to be trading with these Malkasivans since the late 1500s, and British colonial rule was established by the 17th century. It was not until 1820 that the now Modern Molopovinsk revolted for control of their own sovereign nation. The last foreign occupation was by Japan, from 1941-45. A socialist party was voted into power in 1960, and their party head quickly transformed Molopovia into an oppressive communist industrial state. The current democratic republic had been standing since the 1972 revolution until a temporary 3-month military junta was established following a coup from the Armed Forces Chief of Staff Madarov Zafaros, then re-establishing democracy under his rule.

In Molopovia, racial diversity is new. Due to this, racist government policies were introduced during British rule, and not completely eradicated until the Second Republic in 1946. Cultural and traditional differences between people are still prevalent in the country, but both the government and multiple organizations are working to bring the nation into the era of racial justice for all.

Molopovia is a somewhat democratic state, finally experiencing freedom after decades upon decades of suffering, war, regime changes and oppression. Its economy helps project its power worldwide in a more friendly manner, with its steady growth promising future riches for its citizens. Although when push comes to shove, the Molopovinsk Armed Forces is always standing ready.

History

Prehistory
A group of early humans, called the Malkasivans, were believed to have fled from the mainland continent of Asia and into the Pacific. The reason remains unknown. Soon, this group scattered all across the ocean. Some survived and found an island, others died out traveling the enormous size of the Pacific. The Molopovian sub-group was believed to have found the islands around 3,000 years ago. They practiced a unique and thriving indigenous culture, adapting from a hunter-gatherer lifestyle to a decent civilization, until the 1400s, where they were discovered by British explorers.

British Rule
In 1494, 8,000 troops stormed the islands and claimed the indigenous peoples' land for the British Empire. Their technologies, with the help of the colonizers, advanced and they continued to develop, but soon the Molopovians would have enough of foreign rule. The Siktom Revolution of November 1840 was set to free the Molopovian people once more. 20,000 natives attacked the weapon armories and stole the supplies of the British colonizers. General Bill Moorefield sent in 35,000 redcoats to counter the revolts, but by the time they were ready, it was too late. The crowd had grown to at least 97,000 armed natives, where a total of 65,300 people lost their lives. On January 5, 1841, the First Republic of Molopovia was proclaimed, now independent after 400 years of oppression.

First Republic
The British Empire tried to retake the islands, on 3 seperate attempts (1841, 1845 and 1857 respectively), but all failed. By the turn of the 20th Century, the Molopovian nation thrived under a modernized industrial economy, and acquiring much income from tourism and exportation of goods. The nation repaired relations with Britain, and as such, the Empire would offer military protection to Molopovia.

Japanese Occupation
In late 1941, the Japanese Empire attacked. The Molopovian Army, led by Marshal Sukterino (b. 1894, d. 1954), mobilized to fight against the enemy forces. Their modern weaponry and guerilla tactics worked at first, but soon larger amounts of aircraft, artillery and armored vehicles forced their surrender in March 20, 1942. While the nation was occupied, countless revolts were attempted, and all the Japanese could do was suppress them. Molopovia could never be fully integrated in time, as it was always rebelling against the Japanese troops. A total of 30,000 natives died by the hands of the occupiers as a result. The islands were liberated in July 15, 1944 by the Americans.

Second Republic
The Second Republic of Molopovia would officially form in August 1, 1945, following liberation by U.S. troops. Their one and only agenda was to rebuild as fast and as effective as they can. In 1945, Molopovia was admitted to the United Nations, and received economic aid from both Britain and the US. The National Republican Party effectively ruled the nation from 1943 until 1960, where President Kolbosha of the Molopovian Socialist Party won by a margin of 100,000 voters against the NRP.

Communist Republic
Radical change was implemented. The new socialist government banned other parties from partaking in any political activity, as well as the formation of a secret police. The industrial manufacture of goods almost entirely replaced the agricultural business as the economic backbone of the nation. Pollution concerns were rising up, and the traditionalists protested against certain policies that they view as non-fitting, especially the aspect of state-owned property. As this happened during the Cold War, the United States threatened to cut off support unless the socialist government and policies be revoked. But President (now Premier) Kolbosha had clenched an iron fist, and continued his policies, as well as suppress anyone who rebelled against them.

In 1967, the Soviet Union funded and supplied the Molopovian Armed Forces, long overdue for modernization. Their old P-51 Mustang planes were replaced with MiG jets. American and British made rifles, SMGs and machine guns were slowly phased out in favor of Degtyaryov and Kalashnikov weaponry. Outdated WW2 ships were replaced with all sorts of Soviet destroyers and frigates. The military rapidly improved, and were now comparable to a minor power's capabilities.

Revolution
But alas, the people were sick of the low living conditions and widespread mistreatment. In the morning of September 4, 1970, a mob stormed to the armory building near the Military Headquarters of the Capital. Just hours later, bloody firefights would ensue. Civilians armed with AK-47s, Makarov pistols and SKS rifles fired at the police and military. It would now be known as the 1970 People's Revolution. A joint task force of 40,000 policemen and 100,000 army personnel worked to contain the revolts and protests, and in doing so had killed at least 75,000 citizens. In December 10, 1970, the Molopovia Democratic Front was formed, consisting of 600,000 people, rebelling against the regime, armed or unarmed. By Christmas, it had grown to a million. Many groups marched in the streets and stirred chaos upon the suburbs. This continued until the United States decided to support both the peaceful protesters and the armed rebels in their fight against the communist state.

On February 22, 1972, Premier Kolbosha's palace was raided by a group of armed rebels, where the Premier was captured while the rest of his government officials were brutally murdered. Kolbosha was then picked up by a U.S. Marines convoy, effectively exiling him from the nation. He lived in San Diego under heavy police monitoring until he was killed in 1976 in a gang raid that had potential ties to the MDF.

Third Republic
The Third Republic of Molopovia was finally formed in March 3, 1972, led by President Bashiriko. Democracy and peace prevailed for the first time in decades. The new Molopovinsk Republic was able to recover, although in a slow pace. Our current leader, President Tarlishak ran the nation from 2016 until...

2021 Military Coup and Fourth Republic
...the military coup, which was launched in early 2021 by General Madarov Zafaros. He put the country under martial law for 3 months, before transitioning the junta back into a Fourth Republic, where he would radically reform the government into a center-left position. Political freedom under this new regime is still comparable to democracy, but it is lessening as time passes. Tarlishak was re-appointed to the government as the WA Ambassador of Molopovia.

Geography

The Molopovian state is an archipelago of islands. As of 2019, there are 10,512 islands that are being administered by the govenrment dispute-free, while a further 354 are uninhabited, and another 51 currently disputed with other nations. The three biggest islands holds 91% of the population. Nabor is the northernmost, most important and largest island of Molopovia. Containing 86% of the total population count, the capital city is housed here. Ghulana is next in size and importance, historically the land of the Tayorian populace and the Molopovian race's ancestors, Malkasivans, who failed to descend into the race. Mountains and forests are more common in this island. Finally, Kayker is the smallest and southernmost island. Undescended Malkasivan peoples are the most prominent in this region. Flat plains and lakes are scattered across the land.

Infrastructure

Transportation

The vast nation of Molopovia has developed a modern, extensive, efficient and multimodal transportation network over the course of its centuries of history. Road, rail, air and sea transport in Molopovia all have storied and intertwined pasts.

Land-based is the most significant mode of transport in the country, with the majority of people and cargo moving short to medium distances across highways and railroads. The Shosnaya Highway System consists of Molopovia's most crucial highways, expressways and other arteries connecting the country's scattered cities and towns through ~250,000 kilometers of paved road. The other significant land-based transport system is the National Commuter rail network, spanning almost 50,000 km of railroad split into seven (7) different lines. In smaller scales, such as in city and municipality districts, ring, radial and circumferential roads are complemented by local rapid transit lines (both light and heavy rail), such as the Nadeyatsya Metro and Lumasi Metro networks. Many of today's highways and railways were either built or improved upon from older routes during a massive transport development boom throughout the 1970s and 1980s following the deposition of Kolbosha's socialist regime. Electric multiple unit (EMU) trains are the most prevalent type of train that can be seen in Molopovia's rail network.
