Trekan History

Prehistory (before 4000 B.C.E.)
"Native" Calderians first appeared in Calderia 29,000 years ago first stepping foot in southern Treka following a massive migration of people from Osho to Calderia over the southern ice cap following herds of animals. At the end of the last glacial maximum 11,700 years ago as Treka's iconic rocky shores were carved by retreating glaciers and rising seas, the continent was cut off from other continents completely until the arrival of Remusians in northern Corusconia 2,300 years ago.

Mound Builders
In 4000 BC, Treka was home to nothing more than hunter gatherers. No major tribes, no wheel, nothing that signifies any development. That changed in 3300 BC, a mound built by the “Watson River People” found in Northern Merrimack is the first sign of civilization in Treka, and thought to be one of the oldest human made structures on earth. The “Mound Builders.” From 3300 to 1000 BC, what was thought to be small hunter gatherer tribes with little development built mounds around Treka. Research shows these were the site of ancient native monuments such as tombs or sites of leader’s homes, and were often surrounded by massive cities. These ancient complex native societies were thought to be hierarchical and complex. Allowing powerful men to command hundreds of workers to move the soil needed to build the mounds. However, these civilizations disappeared after 1000 BCE. The mounds lived on though. And some mounds were used by Trekan natives to continue their usage as cities.
