Apabeossie in the Eurovison Song Contest

Apabeossie debuted in the NS Eurovision Song Contest in the 2020 edition, and has participated every year since. The contest is broadcast in Apabeossie by ARC, which also organizes the entry selection either via internal selection (2020-21, 23) or the Leirfest (2022, 24).

Since its debut, Apabeossie has qualified for the final in every contest. Its most successful semi-final result was in 2022, where it was tied for scoring the most points and came 2nd through a tiebreaker. However, Apabeossie is yet to achieve a top 5 result in the grand final. It came last in the 2021 final and second-to-last in 2023. The country's best result is a seventh-place finish in the 2020 contest.

History

Apabeossie first participated in the NS contest in 2020, represented by singer Rostál and her song "Brook". Originally set for non-qualification in semi-final 1, the entry made it to the final by scoring higher points than the 4th and 5th place of semi-final 2. It ended up 7th in the final, Apabeossie's highest result so far.

Apabeossie selected pop rock band Magicians of Sound for 2021, who participated with the song Off to the New World. It finished last of 11 entries in the grand final.

Apabeossie selected its entry via a national final for the first time in 2022 with the repurposing of Leirfest as the country's selection process. It was won by Sia Haisel with the song Aurora. It would go onto achieve the highest success in the semi-final so far, receiving 116 points in a tie with Yahlia and being relegated to 2nd place. It finished 8th out of 11 finalists in the grand final after another tiebreak.

Apabeossie reverted back to internal selection in 2023. The selected entry was Méirda Sarden with the song Sonder. It would go on to barely qualify and finish 16th out of 17 songs in the grand final.

After the 2023 contest, the broadcaster ARC announced that it would be hosting the Leirfest again for next year's contest. It was won by Ecrys with her song 'The Arena'. She will represent Apabeossie in Thessaloniki.
