The Republic of Southland is a country in the South Indian Ocean. The country is one big island located at S49. The country is has 2,607,000 people living on 21,331 sq mi. 75% of the country lives in urban areas while 25% live in rural areas. The country is subdivided into 2 regions, 5 provinces and 39 counties. The largest city is Gallatin with 254,000 people. The second largest city and capital is Port Rosylin with 191,000 people. The economy is largely supported by manufacturing, business, tech, mining, timber, tourism, and fishing/farming.

Geography
The country is known for it's vast geographic features. From temperate rainforest to towering mountains to rich farmland and rolling hills. The south divide mountain range stretches along the south coast. The mountains reach above 6,000 ft in 50 places. With the tallest being Mount Wayland at 6,908 ft. The highlands and mountains give way the temperate rainforest in the south. And rolling hills and plains in the north. Nearly all of the lakes are located in the South Divide highlands and mountains.

The 2 regions of the country are the vast south and the urban north. The north has a population of 1,981,000 living in an area of 3,331 sq mi. The population density is 594.7 people per sq mi. The south has a population of 626,000 living in an area of 18,000 sq mi. The population density is 34.8 people per sq mi.
