[Overview

ANM Mosquirto (BB-1) is a retired battleship, the only ship of her class, and the first proper "Warship" in the entire Attu Navy. Owing to the necessity of a gunship for river patrol, it was retired on September 5th, 2035, when the first FREMM frigate was purchased, and 10 LCAC(L) gunboats were purchased for fire support and recon in brown-water conditions.

During The war for Independence, she carried 73 Guns and 12 Machine guns for riverine patrol and attack, she was also crewed by two future heads of the navy, Lucy "Lucky" Elroy High Admiral of the Navy and Joss Braden Admiral of the Coast Guard and Marine Corp. After independence in 2032 it was kept in service operating in the Yukon river and attached lakes. Mosquito shelled Canadian Bivouacs and convoys and provided critical defence on the roadways while Whitehorse was evacuating.

After that she remained in service for one year, and was eventially put into reserve service on September 6th, 2035, where it remaind in service as training ship and cerimonal vessel, Eventaully on October 8th, 2039 was retired and converted into a museum ship, It was permanently moored in the Yukon river in Whitehorse and gives naval cadets, children and histroians a vivid look into our country's fight for freedom, as well as being a monument to those few who fought in the Naval Militia .

History

Mosqutio is a converted Sleeper-cruiser meant to carry people around the canals of Europe, It was purchased by a Canadian tour company and, after interior and mechanical upgrades were used as a Sleeper-cruiser for 3 years before the Canadian government's harsh spilt, led a civil war, which gave the fractured military excessive personal power, and after a controversial order condemning public protests and giving the military permission to disperse them in any way, riots occurred, After being pressed into Canadian naval service transporting troops across the Northumberland Strait to reach PEI, Large sways of people protesting against the government also knew the government controlled all aspect of there city and infostructure, and with the every increasing complacency of the mainly caucasion governments, people migrated to the provences who wouldent subject there citizens, Namely Yukon, NWT, Nunavut and NFL and Labradors. the Mosqutio(then named Hansa) carried troops sympathetic with the rebel cause, and civilians from PEI, to Iqualit, in freezing cold, slowly and painfully starving between resupply stops, the harshest leg of Hansa's journey was the strench from Nain, Quebec to Iqualiut. Where they had a hard disicon to make between stocking up on feul for the last strech, but leaving people behind to not overencumber the ship, Or bringing all the people and not enough feul breaking down before they reached Iqaluit. They Settled on the former and left 60 people behind, spilting up familys as parents made the tough diceasion to send there kids alone, or with just one parent. They made it to iqualit, when after disembarking there people and relaying information to the deserters (The Nunavut Marine Company) there, they then rapidly refuled, and with a Canadian Navy Sailor sqaud, rapidly made there way down to Nain to pick up the people left behind, But only to see a terrable sight, The town was on fire, and Canadian sailors leaving the coast littered with dead bodys, The ship HCMS Halifax opened fire on Hansa, but somehow no round hit the ship, and made it back to Iqaluit, to give the family the news. It then stayed at Iquailit untill the outbreak of the War of Independace where it travled down the hudson bay with the Nunuvut Marine Company, where they would take key objectives and cause havoc on the coast, Its most notable battle, ws when they The Nunuvut Marine Company landed on Churchill , Manitoba, and liberated the town evacuating the people before the canadain army could send them into the citys for "filling" (which was the offical term for the placement of FNMI peoples into concentration camps.

On janurary 1, 2029, it was sent to Kugluktuk, Where it recived its armament uprgrade, which the mechanics working on it dubbed "The Battleship" as with these uprgrades it made it the most heavily armed ship in the Militas service after that, the engine was taken out and referbished with the help of the original manufacturers from Hungary, It then made the jounry from Kugluktuk to the mouth of the Yukon River, Where it made the 100 day journey upstream, to get to Whitehorse where it saw it first combat. South of whitehorse a Canadian camp set up along the river, The Hansa moved down south against the current backwards, then when the Canadian Camp was right beside them they opened fire with 31 75mm Guns, 3 60mm Guns and a Stolen Canadian 105mm Gun, along with a few dozen SKS which were convered into Fully Automatic, After less then 2 Minutes, the Canadians heavy weapons we're destoryed, its losses mounting, and NCOs and Officers few and far between, The Hansa then Turned on its main propeller and 4 SeaPro 500hp Outboard motors.

Armemennt

Main-Battery

The primary armament of the ARM Mosquito consisted of sixty-four breech-loading 80mm Salute Cannon "Desert," which were commercially bought, German-constructed ceremonial cannons, smuggled over in boats, and narco subs. The guns were 5.2ft (1600mm) long, from breech face to muzzle. About 43 feet (13 m) protruded from the gun house. Each gun weighed about 1,020 kg (2,250 lb),

They fired 18.9-pound (1,225 kg) high-explosive projectiles at a muzzle velocity of 381 m/s (1,250 ft/s).Up to 5,500 m (6,000 yd) away, but shots this distance were rare.

Each gun rested within an armoured cabin, with the barrel pointing out the window. Each gun was placed in its own room, with 16 guns per deck (2 decks) per side(left and right) for a total of 64 80mm guns. The way the guns were elevated and depressed were two manual cranks, one for vertical direction and one for horizontal direction. One crewmember would always adjust them to the targets the commander points out. All of the Ammunition for the weapon is stored in the cabin, in a wet storage rack

. At the bottom of the turret were rooms that were used to handle the projectiles and store the powder bags used to fire them. All of the compartments within the turrets were separated by flameproof bulkheads to prevent any flame or lethal gas from spreading throughout the turret.[5] Each turret required a crew of 77–94 men to operate.[3][5][6]

Although frequently referred to as "triple gun" turrets, they were, in fact, classified as "three gun" turrets, due to the ability to elevate and fire each gun in the turret independently. This is as opposed to true "triple gun" turrets, in which all three guns must be operated as one.[5] The ships could fire any combination of their guns, including a broadside of all nine.

The guns could be elevated from −5° to +45°, moving at up to 12° per second.[2] The turrets could be rotated about 300° at a rate of about four degrees per second and could even be fired back beyond the beam, which is sometimes called "over the shoulder."[2] The guns were never fired horizontally forward (in the 1980s refit, a satellite up-link antenna was mounted at the bow). To distinguish between the rounds fired from different battleships, the Iowa class used dye bags, which allowed artillery observers to determine which rounds had been fired by which ship. Iowa, New Jersey, Missouri, and Wisconsin were assigned the colors orange, blue, red and green, respectively.[3]
