Hello there! It's great to have you! Valaryia, along with everyone else in the region, kindly welcomes you to the region. Valaryia is a diverse community that prides itself on egalitarian ideals, inclusivity, diversity, freedom and democracy. We hope you to enjoy your time here, and achieve whatever you want to do in NationStates be it: answering issues, participating in roleplays, writing dispatches, or just chatting with other nations in the region or Nationstates as a whole. We enforced no WA endorsement cap, so endorse anyone you wanted, or don't. We also elected members of our government and approve those who are nominated by the founder, with the exception of the founder (which is impeachable); we value freedom, but we also hold democracy and integrity to highest standards.

May we think of freedom, not as the right to do as we please, but as the opportunity to do what is right.

 Getting Started

---

For starters, if you are new to NationStates, you should join the  World Assembly (WA) to vote on new World Assembly resolution, endorse our president and delegate, to help our president and delegate retain its power there, and to make you eligible to vote in our election, as only WA member states are allowed to vote in our elections to verify the vote. However, if you don't want to, that's fine, we value your freedom here but just reminded of the benefit above.

And if you're also new to Valaryia, I suggest you to either read this factbook and the factbooks that have been linked above, or to contact the aforementioned people for help should you require any assistance or help! They'll be happy to help you. 

Oh, and also, if you are being bombarded with recruitment telegrams right now, you can go to  Telegram Preferences to select Block All under the Recruitment section. Click the Update Filter button and it should be done. But it's fine if you don't want to, for you're free to do so. You can treat this region as a stepping stone, or a permanent home for your nation; for whatever noble intent you have in mind, you are free to do it here, and you will always be welcome in this region!

 Things You Can Do

Valaryia provided a variety of activities you can do! For whatever purpose you are joining this region; making new friends, elevating your standings in NationStates, or just killing your time, the choice is up to you!

•  Make new friends in our community
  We have an active community that's ready to welcome you with a warm hand in  Discord and on the  Regional Message Board. Whether you're just a foreign visitor that's connected via foreign embassy, or a newcomer, you are welcome in our community! We also occasionally talk in voice chats and stream game play and game night in our Discord, so if you're interested, you should join our Discord!

•  Participate in our government
  Our government always lacked human resources, even on elected positions, so if you're looking for a governmental position and eager to join a regional government on NationStates or be delved into immersive NationStates regional government experience, this place will always be welcoming! So whether you choose to be a helper staff that helps our government, elected government officials that helped crafted, refine and propose new policies of the region, or a moderator (in the Security Committee) that helps our community safe, you will always be welcomed to participate in our regional government.

•  Be immersed in our roleplay
  Valaryia has a variety of roleplays that are being hosted in our  Discord, such as nations roleplay, dungeons and dragons roleplay and a lot more! You can also do your roleplay in  Regional Message Board or even host one if you're feeling like it, both on RMB or Discord (with prior permission)! You have the freedom to do so, anyways. The possibilities are endless here! So express your creativity, and join in on the fun with us.

 Citizenship

Citizenship in Valaryia is not needed for you to participate in our region, our community or our roleplays, but it is a good and easy way to further your involvement and participation in the region. By being a citizen of Valaryia, you'll be able to become elected government officials, vote in regional elections, hold officials accountable, and draft and approve legislations for the region.

In order to become a citizen of Valaryia, you can just simply join the  World Assembly (WA) and make sure your nation reside in Valaryia. And that's it! You're done. Unfortunately, there's no way to obtain citizenship any other way for the moment to ensure security and verification in our elections and votes.
