Oh the Leafs! Pt. 3

After the misery of last year of losing another Game 7 to Boston, Toronto has now created a monster of a team with a defense and a goaltending tandem to rival to biggest teams out there. Not to mention the forward core looking stronger than ever. Whilst also picking up a new coach. Who is this coach you may ask? The guy who helped bring St. Louis to last in the western conference to Cup Champs, Craig Berube.

Round 1: Ottawa Senators

Game 1: Toronto wins 6-2. Good job Toronto, you just spanked a team that didn't make the playoffs for the last 8 years. At home. Keep up this momentum!

Game 2: Toronto wins 3-2OT. Toronto just won both games at home. This game closer than last as this one went to overtime. Keep it up!

Game 3: Toronto wins 3-2OT. Uhhhh where was this for the past 20 years. On the brink of sweeping Ottawa!

Game 4: Ottawa wins 4-3OT. Well, you can't always sweep them. Atleast you still have a chance of a gentlemen's sweep.

Game 5: Ottawa wins 4-0. Toronto. This is a joke. At home. Shutout. With a chance to close. On to Ottawa.

Game 6: Toronto wins 4-2. Well it was looking like you were slipping back to normal form for the past two games but you came back and won the game and series! I'm sure the lack of scoring from the Core Four won't bite them later down the road.

Round 2: Florida Panthers

Now time for an actual challenge. The team that embarrassed you guys two years ago by completing a gentlemen's sweep against you. This time however, you have a stronger team with the goalie that used to be the backup for Florida last year. Hopefully nothing happens to him.

Game 1: Toronto wins 5-4. Celebrate Leafs fans! You won a game against the Panthers! Only one downside. Your starting goaltender who was really good? Yeah now he is injured for an undisclosed reason after getting tapped in the head by Sam Bennett. Time to bring Joseph Woll in!

Game 2: Toronto wins 4-3. Huh? Am I seeing that right? Toronto with 2 wins in a row over the defending Cup Champions? What kind of voodoo magic has this team been using? Depth scoring you say? Seems like the depth is doing better than the Core Four.

Game 3: Florida wins 5-4OT. Don't be down Toronto fans, you were one goal away from putting the cup champs down 3-0 in the series. Only problem is that Marchand scored the OT goal. Toronto's arch nemesis.

Game 4: Florida wins 2-0. Alright these games are on the road, not the most crushing games to lose. It's not like you will get booed off the ice by your home crowd on the road. Still wondering where that Core Four is.

Game 5: Florida wins 6-1. Toronto. What the actual hell was that? At home none the less. Getting booed off the ice after the 2nd was just the cherry on top. Now would be a good time for the Core Four to actually show up.

Game 6: Toronto wins 2-0. On the brink of elimination, the perennial golfer Auston Matthews gets the first and game-winning goal for the game. This is only his 2nd goal in 8 games. He's your captain.

Game 7. At home. The last time Toronto was here in Game 5, they were booed off the ice by the fans. They don't want the disaster that game was to happen again. The last Game 7 was a heartbreaker in Boston.

If last year was time to blowup the franchise, this year should be absolutely level the city to smithereens and blow it up with atomic warheads and make the area known as Toronto unlivable. This is an all-time low for this franchise. You blew it again. When's the last time we said that line. Core Four were out to lunch except Game 6 and parts of the Ottawa Series. Mind you the lowest paid member of the Core Four is still getting paid 11 million dollars. Marner & Tavares' contracts are up at seasons end so say goodbye to them! Nylander & Matthews are now big question marks on why they are even paid this much. The cherry on top is you guys still lose to Marchand after him switching teams. Sure his goal on Game 7 meant nothing but the fact he even scored is just hilarious. Shanahan is long gone out of Toronto it all seems like. 10 years of the Shanaplan and look how many times Toronto made it past the first round, 2 times. Since the lockout in 04-05, Buffalo has made it past the first round 4 times and they haven't even made the playoff for the past 14 years. This isn't even funny anymore. This is depressing. How can a team go 58 years without at least one appearance in the Finals yet Montreal can make it to the finals on 21, go through a rebuild in 22, 23, and 24, and make it back to the playoffs in 25. A FULL REBUILD IN 3 YEARS AND TORONTO CAN'T MAKE IT PAST THE FIRST ROUND ALL BUT TWO TIMES!

Just make a new franchise and start over.
