forum-side office.Overview: A plan to create a seed vault for the preservation of agricultural genetic stock.
Analysis: This proposal creates an agency charged with establishing storage facilities that maintain stocks of seeds for plants important to the agriculture of each member nation. Participation by member nations is voluntary, and its only remedial action for noncompliance by member nations who voluntarily participate is the suspension of the legislation's benefits. The Secretary-General finds it to meet criteria for international legislation and finds it to conform with expectations for national sovereignty.
Therefore, we strongly encourage all World Assembly member states to Vote FOR.
