Welcome to the Gateway of Rylet. From here you should be able to get to any one of the many different areas of interest in Rylet.
It is important to set out a region's core principles to see if players can exist within them. Being in the region comes with the tacit acceptance of these principals.
- Role-Playing Community
Above all else Rylet is a region founded on Role-Playing. The region exist to host cooperative story telling through the lens of custom nations. Canon can only truly be created by role-play and has priority over any other form of world building. Meta-games such as Raiding and Defending, The World Assembly, and Regional Democracy/Constitutionalism are not the focus of the region.
Shared Foundations
This region is based on the principal of having a mutual starting point for all nations. To create a realistic world for our nations to inhabit, a consistent set of information must serve as the basis for our shared universe. This is achieved through our Land Bio system giving both concrete and abstract data to help understand and compare our nations on a variety of topics.
Custom Cultures
There are no Earth cultures in Rylet. Approximations of Earth Cultures can be used as a shorthand to invoke familiarity but all cultures are in reality custom to the world. Players are encouraged to blend various inspirations as well as create new and unique human cultures. As such we do not have cultural continuity mapping and no restrictions on where to place your nation.
Interdependence
Rylet is in an age of interdependence. No nation can go it alone, you need friends in this vast world. This is not to say we live in a utopian end of history world. The multipolar nature of the world makes it deeply unstable with shifting alliance structure. We want a world of tension and politicking not of isolation and autarky. Make some friends and blow up the world... together.
No Great Divergence
Compared to our own world the developed world is spread throughout the world a lot more evenly. Far reaching overseas colonial empires are unlikely to have formed in the world given this fact. While there is certainly large discrepancies between the haves and the have nots, it isn't as easy to map geographically as Earth.
Our maps are created by our Cartographer.
One of Rylet's greatest draws is our regional map. Unique in Nationstates, our map features the details of an Earth Map with the creativity of a custom one. This is achieved through the addition of resources and economic sectors giving each player the ability to create a well-rounded and interesting nation.
Citizenship in Rylet allows placement on the map as well as access to our Canon Role-Plays. The process helps us make sure everyone has a similar basis upon entering the region and serves as a database for our members to easily access information on their neighbors.
The heart of our region is our Role-Plays. The limitations on what can be Role-Played canonically are based on the regional tags and for the most part, should be closed in nature. If you are planning a role-play outside of the tags we will try our best to accommodate and are fairly flexible.
The Regional Government is less of a government and more of a group of volunteers helping to keep the region running. These volunteers are the Coordinators. The Coordinators are tasked with running the region and solving any issues that arise.

To Maintain Coordinator Status
Duties
- The Coordinators are dedicated members who help create and preserve the canon of Rylet. They are tasked with helping coordinate and assist Role-Plays in Rylet, from consulting to helping solve disputes. Issues of canon are addressed by them. They are useful sources of information on the region and Role-Playing available to talk about building your nation and how to RP.
Their secondary role is to lead the region by example. This means hosting and participating in Role-Plays. Each Coordinator must host an event at some point during the year. It can take many forms but should be a large scale RP in nature with thought and detail put into planning it.
Lastly, Archons are not permanent positions they leave and come back as time allows them to participate in the region. Don't feel pressured to be or stay in the position if you don't think you have time to do so.

To Maintain Coordinator Status
Duties
While the goal of the coordinator position is to ensure ease of RP. Sometimes things can get a little cliquey in Nationstates. To ensure that coordinators are not out of touch with the region as a whole, the position of Elected Coordinator (EC) exists.
The EC is elected via becoming the WA Delegate. This is a voluntary role the current WA Delegate can opt in and out of or until a new WA Delegate is elected. There are no scheduled elections, it is up to the region as a whole to ensure the position is filled if necessary and not the duty of the other coordinators.
The EC is expected to complete the duties of a Coordinator or revert back to only being the WA Delegate.
Regional Advisor

Duties
Regional Advisors mostly just to help the region run. Helping new people learn about Rylet and NS as a whole. They are featured on the consultant page as well as the Coordinators. They may have specialties or some skill they are willing to help you with. They also deal with smaller things that Coordinators don't want/have time to do can be handled by them and so forth. It's a good place to help lead the region especially for those interested in becoming coordinators.
