After an illegal vote last week in the Imperial Dominion of Stewjon, Stewjon along with near two dozen other colonies within the Outer Colonies have broken away from the Imperial Galactic Empire and announced the establishment of the Confederacy of Independent States (CIS). Colonial Affairs Minister Grand Lord Tarkin has condemned the secession although Prime Minister Lord Palpatine has immediately moved to set up dialogue with the CIS and attempt to keep them within the Imperial Galactic Empire. The TIM has been ordered onto high alert and troops have been placed near the borders of the Imperial Galactic Empire and CIS. Several other governors of colonies have indicated they wish to remain neutral in the event of conflict although the Imperial Government has indicated it may enact the Acts of Dominion that will require all colonies to provide troops and resources to the TIM. Lord Palpatine announced in parliament that he will do everything in his power to resolve the crisis peacefully. Several military leaders including Generals Mace Windu and General Yoda are expected to meet with the Prime Minister soon to discuss the matter.
