Important Bills and Laws of the Confederacy

Imperial Constitution: The first document drawn up when Sleetavia was unified, this constitution was vital in establishing law and order within the fledgling nation. It described the rights and responsibilities of the average citizen, the responsibilities of the Emperor, and various different customs and laws that were critical for the survival of the nation. However, the rights of the citizen described in it were somewhat limited, what with most of the constitution being devoted to law and order. However, it did lay the groundwork for what would become an expanded constitution, bringing with it amends and expanded detail on laws, rights, and customs within Sleetavia.

Constitution of the Confederacy: With the reformation of Sleetavia into it's modern day statue in 1845 by Emperor Desmyr II, the Emperor saw the need for a replacement of the old Imperial Constitution if the nation was to be truely reformed. This new constitution, which is still used today, contains a total of 53 chapters, each detailing different major laws, customs, and rights of the citizen, which it expanded upon from the previous Imperial Constitution. It also famously, in it's first chapter, states that an elected Council was to be formed and kept to pass and scrutinize laws alongside the Emperor, and to keep the elected President's power in check. It is the most important document in the Sleetavian government, as it states the structure of the Confederacy and how things are kept in order.

Bill of the Confederate Citizens Rights: A bill drawn up by Desmyr II when he was reforming the country, this bill was designed to secure the civil rights and liberties of Sleetavia's citizens. Desmyr II also designed it to go hand-in-hand with the Constitution. Some even consider it a seperate draft of an amendment meant for the constitution, but passed as a seperate bill instead. It goes into deeper detail on the rights and liberties of the Sleetavian citizen, and also cannot be removed by any means. Not even the Emperor himself has the power to nullify this bill.
