BREAKING NEWS #5

Following months of silence and a leak by online activists the Imperial Government declassified information regarding a Kaiju attack on Gibraltar and a subsequent blackout of electronics in the area. On April 10th a Kaiju surfaced off the coast of Gibraltar taking the garrison and fleet off guard. In the ensuing chaos an EMP device held within the rock of Gibraltar was activated disabling all electronic devices in the area and impeding the ability of Imperial forces at Gibraltar to fight back. With the information declassified it has been revealed that while the defences within the rock of Gibraltar are largely intact, 90% of the city has been destroyed by the Kaiju along with a large portion of the Gibraltar population and estimates for troop casualties range from 2,000-3,000. Our reporter on the ground at the time sadly was killed in the incident along with several camera people. As such the Imperial fleet has remained on high alert and tightly around the shores of mainland Toxteth with regular air patrols around the Toxteth Isles. With the war with the CIS continuing and the Kaiju's attacking the Prime Minister today announced that steps are being taken to put Toxteth into a state of Total War so as to combat both. Martial law has been declared for the survivors in Gibraltar as well as the populations on the Falklands, Maldives and Guam, rationing is due to take place within the next two weeks and parliament tomorrow will vote on whether to extend the National Service Act to all citizens aged 18-40 and to as whether those conscripts can be deployed overseas. In other news the new revolutionary government of Somalia - established last April - has established control over the Somali capital of Mogadishu and demanded the reasserting of control over Bosaso which it says was an "unlawful and disgraceful act against the sovereignty of this nation and the people of this nation by the western-aligned pigs that ruled our nation before". The Imperial Government does not recognise the revolutionary government as legitimate citing the current conflict between the revolutionaries, Democratic front and Nationalist parties for control over Somalia. Additional forces have been deployed to Bosaso as per this situation as well to ensure security against the Kaiju's both at Bosaso itself for access via the Suez Canal.
