The Interstellar Military State of Deropia: A Rough Timeline (Work in Progress)

300 BLS (Before Light Speed): The Democratic Republic of Deropia is formed from a collection of city-states on its home planet, Pertos. First general elections scheduled for later that year.

146 BLS: After several years of deteriorating diplomatic relations the Democratic Republic of Deropia declares war on the neighboring nation of Agria.

144 BLS: After two years locked in bitter armed conflict, Agrian troops start to breach Deropian front lines. In response the Emergency Powers Act is passed by parliament during an emergency session of the House of Commons, conferring emergency powers are on the Prime Minister of Deropia, Duncan Clarke. Democratic elections suspended until cessation of hostilities, Prime Minister Clarke is made Commander-in-Chief if Deropian Armed Forces and vested with the power to enact laws without ratification by the House or Senate.

March 141 BLS: After five years of relentless fighting, an uneasy peace is reached in the war with Agira. However, Prime Minister Clarke refuses to cede emergency powers back to Parliament.
