Rules of Void

-Be Respectful(In character interactions do not apply).

-Obey Moderation of Posts.

-Staff must not be active players.

-If you believe a Mod is unfair or wrong DM the Main Admin (People of war) or RP Secretary (Empire of mankind) and seek appraisal.

-Do not argue with Staff.

-Do not make any changes to your Stats(Your Personal Information) without Staff notification. This doesn't mean you have to DM a staff member whenever you make a post, however you can't just to decide to change them without posting anything or alerting anyone in any fashion.

-Post your decisions and/or actions and await a Mod to respond with an outcome, note this doens't apply to all actions, say you create a tax on all your people for 5 coins each to increase your income, your math will be checked, but you won't need a Mod. Use common sense to decdie what RP posts needs modding and what doesn't.

-For covert actions DM a Staff Member(Note this keeps things private, but if you are discovered your actions will be made public, a coin flip will usually be used to determine success and then for possible discovery.

-Failure to react properly to certain Staff created events may result in...unforeseen results.

-Before joining ensure you create a proper character/faction chart, and seek approval from a Staff member.

-Claim a starting location using the map provided.

-Listen to Staff Members.

-Travel times have been reduced from what they would normally be to maintain constant game play.

-Interaction with ACCs(Admin Controlled Characters) will not be decided with dice, but the judgment of Moderators, all information will be taken into account including the characters past, stats and objects in possession.

-Combat between two characters whether its a large scale such as a massive battle or smaller such as personal duels will follow set regulations. The Defending Player having a natural advantage will post their response after the attacker posts their actions, if the attacker is launching a surprise attack the defender will be unable to respond to their first post. Defenders who fail to respond within 24hrs will suffer a complete loss to the attacker. Players upon mutual agreement may request a dice decided outcome. The conflict will be conducted with the attacker posting, the defender responding and the Mod posting an outcome, then the defender will post and the attacker will respond and the Mod will post an outcome, this will continue until a victor emerges.

-Players must subtract financial spending from their total money amount.

-All player decisions and actions will have results, actions may not always result in an equal outcome. Something as small as stealing a purse off of a merchant could have major consequences.

-Creation and usage of WMDs or Mega Weapons such as things like the Star Forge or Death Star must be admin approved

-Players who are "OP" do not start as such, anyone who has worked hard enough to become "OP" and are deserving of their status and will not be nerfed by the Staff. The Admin looks at it this way, this game is very difficult, most people who play it start over at least a couple times due to deaths. Big Nations have Big Problems, Powerful Characters have Powerful Enemies, this process keeps players on their toes and so if a player has beaten all the obstacles in his/her way to become some sort of extremely powerful character they are deserving of their status. Newer players will simply have to find a way to deal with this player as just another obstacle and they too should seek to obtain that status rather than complain about it to the Staff.

-Any form of Meta Gaming is illegal.

-The Staff reserve the right to kick and suspend players from the game, players may petition the main Admin (People of war) or Secretary of RP (Empire of mankind) for a pardon after a week since initially being kicked, suspension is unpardonable unless the suspension term is longer than a week.

-Players are encouraged to use their factbooks to keep track of their stats, military and general information.

-Players may research one technology a every 2hrs.

-Players are free to do whatever they wish in the game, this is a sandbox style RP.

-Mods are unable to disregard posts simply because they don't agree with it personally, ie: slaughter of civilians, or racial discrimination posts. Although a Mod may not like it, players are allowed to RP however they wish, so long as it stays in the RP world.

-The Main Admin and RP Secretary may suspend Mods just as players are suspended, the same rules apply to them.

Game-play

All players start out with control over a single system within a single inhabited planet. They have around 2,000,0000,0000 population and 500,000,000 starting credits and an income of 500,000,0000 credits, that is if they decide to take the normal route with the nation building and management. Other players who wish to RP as First Person characters, such as Pirates, Traders or Mercs will receive custom starting stats determined by staff members. Players can improve their stats though their actions. This includes construction of new facilities, creation of new laws, obtaining new resources, interacting with others and much more. If they wish to advance they must take certain steps, nations who wish to grow must expand past their solar system, if they wish to stay up to date they must research new technology. New tech can be researched every 2 hours and allows certain actions that may have been limited before due to knowledge barriers. Anything not available in the modern world must be researched, with the exception of advanced ships and basic colonies which are given freely and assumed at the start of the game. Tech such as lasers, space stations, terraforming and more have to be researched. New ship models must be designed and posted about as well, starting models include Corvettes: Small vessels carrying up to 100 crew, Frigates: Medium swift vessels carrying up to 200 crew, Battleships: Large powerful vessels carrying up to 500 crew, Fighters: Small one man vessels unable to travel long distances alone, and Freighters: Large vessels carrying up to 150 crew and large amounts of cargo. It is up to the players on how they want to play, the limit is their own imagination...and the rule book of course.
