Volinovian Soldiers patrol around Mareuvia following the collapse of the Westmorian National Guard, the state that they had fought for almost a month now collapsed in a single day following the resumption of hostilities. The soldiers feel conflicted, sure they won their war and will be going home. But just a day, and sure, there were not a lot of Volinovians casualties in this war but those who did not make it through yesterday were on the minds of a lot of people. In less than twenty-four hours families lost loved ones, soldiers lost comrades, and the nation lost a bit of its soul.

The scene was no better in Darwin where Volinovian Marines strolled past ruined buildings, the smell of death still hanging in the air. Crumbled buildings are still being searched for the remains of those who did not make it through the day. The area near the Port of Darwin was the worst, where a munitions factory cooked off for most of the night. It is expected that nobody in the facility survived. A normal workday for all of them turned into their last day. Soldiers and Marines curse the war and the pain that it has brought. Although they know that without this pain, a crazed dictator would still be murdering more innocent lives than this war has taken.

Westmorian Citizens are disheartened and demoralized, something that the Volinovian Troops can relate to but not entirely sympathize with. The Volinovian Troops know that their homes are intact, and will be going back home to them soon. The Westmorians have nothing to return to, entire city blocks were flattened by the Arovennean Missile Strikes. Their jobs, houses, and schools were destroyed by the horrors of the conflict raging all too close to their homes. While the Volinovian Troops look to the brighter side of things, the Westmorians will be left to sort things out themselves. The Volinovians are sure that it's how they would prefer it anyway, having foreign troops that you were just at war within your streets probably doesn't shout "friendly" to them. Especially those who lost someone in the war. Especially those who lost someone to Volinovian Lead.

Volinovian Troops come to the somber realization of the pain they have caused and the monumental task that everyone will have to go through to recover from even a small conflict. They remain diligent with their duties, distracting themselves from the horrors around them with their tasks at hand while waiting for the day that they are finally free from this island. Some justify the conflict in their head, others, more mentally strong, don't need such justifications. In the end, it was kill or be killed. Such is war. Such is the reality that every soldier must go through in the performance of their duties. They begin to move on.
