De Jong, unaware that his transmissions were being monitored by the IRA, agrees to a meeting at the Residence. He quickly charters a flight, packs his bags, and gathers a retinue of high-ranking staff officers and boards a small private plane for Iescech. The little plane's propellers sputter and begin to turn, and the little bird taxis down the runway. As it picks up speed, it rustles the bushes and trees around the airstrip. But not all of the rustling is natural: hidden in the bush is a pair of IRA men, preparing a Stinger missile. As the plane starts to leave the ground in short hops and skips, the men level the weapon at the Oranje. The plane begins to climb, ascending quickly, and the IRA men know that their window is closing fast. One man squeezes the trigger, and the missile is off. It streaks through the sky and smacks into the left engine of the ascending plane, which is reduced to little more than scrap in a terrible inferno. The plane quickly careens to one side and it's nose tips down, hurtling back towards the earth. It impacts the airstrip with a colossal thud, and a pillar of flame shoots in all directions.
Iennic money or not, Oranje has been handed a major setback. The IRA's victory, however, will be short lived, as the Oranje are already planning a terrible reprisal...
