Any idea where a good place to upload the new map would be, it has a 783KB so it would work on imageshack and places like that, but when I tried to upload it on Imageshack it didn't work too well - because you can't zoom in on it, and see all the details. Any ideas?

Thanks to Cotdelapoms for saving it up there, if you save it and zoom in with a graphics program (even the most simple ones, GIMP etc), you'll be able to have a closer look. For some reason it won't let me save it as what it is on my own computer. Everything that has been asked for on the messageboard has been added.

I'd like to say that zooming in on the map doesn't help as it's not a high enough resolution, so Mytannion, do you perhaps have the original file (not the png?)

hm, what the one that is at the top of here - in the World Factbook Entry?

Hrmm... me thinks you might have to re do the edits and make them a higher resolution...

ah no worries, I have plenty of time - so I'll do it over today and tomorrow, what resolution would you recommend?

Mytannion, though obviously I can't see all the details, from a distance my portion looks spot-on! :)

On another note, Cotdelapoms mentioned that there was some discussion of greater region-wide sports leagues. I would love to see this get off the ground. As many nations as possible would host one sport each, scorinating a season every 4-8 weeks. Just to use some examples, Mytannion could host lacrosse, Cotdelapoms could host hockey or even curling, Tarrentum could host baseball, and so on and so forth. None of us really have the time to host a lot of domestic leagues, so this would allow nations to have some localized club team results in a wide variety of different sports. Hopefully we'll get some more interest in this over the coming days and weeks.

I'd be happy hosting a gridiron/american football league too p'raps if that is needed?

On the map, CAM is going to send me the SVG at some point - so it should all be done properly by tomorrow night at the latest. It had all the cities and everything on, and the blue stuff is obviously the lake you wanted to have there :)

If Cotdelapoms didn't want to, In lieu of a league, I could host a huge arse bonspiel with many teams from each country...

Still I like the idea quite a bit

I suppose we can try to start figuring out which nation will host what leagues. If you want to host a specific one, post here and I can keep an updated list of who wants to host what - then maybe we can get these leagues going in April. I could also send around a message to everyone in the region if that is preferred too.

Note that not every sport on this list needs to have a host - these are just suggestions if you're interesting in hosting something but you're not sure what or a sport you want has already been taken.
Civil Citizenry - Basketball
none - Baseball, Hockey, Association Football, American Football, Curling, Rugby...

Also, I will want to keep my own leagues for some sports - so you will definitely have to put in the details something along the lines that it isn't required to have teams in these leagues and it is fine to keep your own domestic leagues.

I have already made arrangements for Association Football (Unity League), and I'd also be willing to do Curling but, it'd be less of a league and more of an uber-bonspiel.

Civil citizenry

Mytannion - of course, of course. I'll be sure to emphasize that.
Virabia - I forgot about the Unity League you're organizing. I'll put you in as the association football host. Also, a bonspiel would be fine. It's essentially the same concept as a league. I don't know if Cotdelapoms is also interested in hosting curling, so maybe if he would like you two can work out some sort of co-hosting thing.

I'd host lacrosse, and possibly rugby union, I'd host american football and baseball too (although I don't understand baseball at all).

I would also like to set-up a college thing similiar to the NCAA, but Rushmore-exclusive, maybe the RCAA or something, it would be for universities/colleges (obviously), and we would be able to scorinate different sports. I'd like to have some RP involved though, so if I could have some feedback on this - that'd be brilliant.

Civil citizenry

I don't know if you'll have time to do all those leagues - besides, some people might want to do sports too (e.g. Tarrentum might be interested in baseball).

I was thinking about college sports, and although I love the idea, I think we should at least wait until we get some pro sports leagues up and running first. Then if there are people with extra time to host a few more sports, then we can visit college sports.

And as for RP bonus, I suppose it's possible for us to do something like that, though generally domestic leagues are not RP'd, afaik.

I'll have time to scorinate at least one of lacrosse/rugby union and one of gridiron/baseball.

It doesn't matter honestly which way we do it, college sports are huge (and I'm not american, and I know this), and there may not be a niche for pro sports leagues - but there may just be for college sports leagues in certain sports anyway. Extra time doesn't really matter, if the sport is being hosted on NSFS or xkoranate - it will take near enough the same time - after you have it set-up anyway.

Which I know, seen as I've been here quite a while now. RP could be incorporated though, as it isn't a domestic league. It is a region-wide league, and the tournaments/leagues/competitions could be held say every two or three months or some other interval.

The link to the newly edited map, still working on trying to get it bigger so you can zoom in closer and that.

You can download it and view it on the Windows Live Photo Gallery thing, and that can zoom in - and all that, if so download it from here:

So there you go, I'll carry on working on it...

Question to those involved in Unity League: It was my initial hopes that because of our having six nations; we could be granted extra UICA spots. While that request was denied, CH did offer for the league to be split in to two divisions (each with teams from three associations). My plan will be to give these divisions inter-divisional play but, for UICA purposes they would be separate leagues. The alternative would be to keep it as is and just have each nation recieve one GC and to those who qualify one TQCC place. Personally I air on keeping it as one big league because I don't care as much about the UICA but, I'd like to pose the question to you people to get your take.

Civil citizenry

Mytannion, the map looks awesome! Thanks so much for adding me in.

Virabia, I would support having two divisions.

I could help out with American Football and Baseball if you need it, CC.

If we were to go down the College sports route - the planned American Football/Gridiron league (which I'd be happy to scorinate), may well replace the NSCF for many nations in Rushmore - obviously, it isn't compulsory to play in this if it goes ahead and if you wish to stay in the NSCF that works too - although teams could still play in both.

Civil citizenry

I've sent every nation in the region a TG about region-wide leagues. So far, we have Virabia hosting soccer, Mytannion hosting lacrosse, and Civil Citizenry hosting basketball. There's some more to flesh out, obviously, including sufficient region-wide interest; but these look like they're going pretty good.

Question: should each region-wide league have its own thread, or should they all be combined into one mega-thread?

I've already said, but just putting it in here too - megathread for me.

I am definitely down to run ice hockey, and I suggest a mega-thread. Would you like to start it? That might be the way to do it.
