Ok so here is what happened there was this guy called History Buffs who was trying to get people to get people to join his region. He broke rules by first constructing an embassy with a raider region and also allowing fascist countries. He was banned and we tohught that was the end of it. Then a person called Talkings said that History Buffs was a good guy and he should be unbanned, but his nation was created 13 minutes during the time of the conversation. We began to believe that it was History Buff and we were crrect. I do not know why THX deleted them but it was nothing personal

2.When you say statistics I assume you mean the deaths that could have been saved.
Source: Just search up Columbia University Study and you will see.
2.If you want to know who to trusts maybe you should look to the scientists who have spent years researching and studying in their field and use facts to back up the claim and you're examples don’t make sense, nobody with a brain said that a virus that AFFECTS the LUNGS can’t spread through air or to not wear a mask.
3.This whole unemployment thing could have been prevented if we did what other nations are doing, look at Europe you haven’t heard news of unemployment there because of how they handle it, what they do is pay the companies to keep them employed while the government pays the employees most of what they use to make like 85% in Canada and for those teenagers you only get the checks if you are over 18 and most teens are under that age and if they are working at a yogurt place they will need the money. Oh and for the people not showing might be because they don’t want to be sick.

Liberdon wrote:News alert: The coronavirus has killed just as many people as the flu does EACH year. And our economy would be open if we hadn’t initiated this mass quarantine in the first place. And if we’re talking deaths then how about you look at Cuomo, who forced nursing homes to take in patients with coronavirus in order to “open up” room in hospitals. We can all have our separate opinions, but you can’t tell me that mine is completely wrong and yours is completely right. Where did you get those statistics? They are all probabilities. We know nothing for sure. The CDC says wear a mask, don’t wear a mask, it spreads by air, it doesn’t spread by air. Who knows what statistics can be trusted? And the unemployed benefits? Some people are purposefully not showing up to work because they get payed more while being unemployed. And teenagers who work part-time jobs at yogurt places get a stimulus check. It’s ridiculous where some of our tax dollars are going.

Unfortunately fake news spread like the plague... You are completely wrong. I'm a nurse, working in my regional hospital ER... And I've senn what the Coronavirus can do... I've been writing my experience with it here, I think you should take a look...

https://10000islands.proboards.com/thread/38624/coronavirus-covid-19-insight

I just say this: the country that prioritizes money over the health of their inhabitants, it's a country I would not like to live on... For some reason, countries with presidents that didn't take it seriously (Trump, Bolsonaro came to mind...) are getting the worst results... And that's a fact! And I tell you more: don't think you are safe, don't think it's just a simple flu... You would be risking your life and the life of the others around you!
BTW, if you want percentages, the common flu has 1 to 3% kill rate, depending mostly on the country's health system... Covid-19 has 3 to 10%...
I'm sorry for being too harsh on you about this, but this grinds my gears! I had to leave home for more than 2 months because of this pandemic, I've seen people die, I've seen colleagues of mine admitted to the ICU... So just an advice, don't take it lightly and surely don't believe anything you hear from those who aren't qualified enough to have an opinion...

I take part in these debates only to express my opinion and put pen to paper on all the thoughts roaming around my head. Nothing is ever personal.

Columbia University is just one center of statistics, and I’m afraid while you’re willing to trust their numbers, I am not. And if you are to look in the news and google cdc coronavirus guidelines changed, you will see what I was talking about. Europe has a different strategy to unemployment, choosing to minimize rather than mitigate. For the teenagers, I should have been more specific, I meant high-school kids living with their parents. I agree that any teenager who is over 18 and independent and working at a yogurt place does need the money. I have siblings that are in their twenties that benefited from the stimulus. And yes, some people are not showing because they fear getting sick, but if their employer furloughs them and then asks them to come back, they should come back.

I do hope we can consider this a friendly debate when it is over. I am sorry if I have offended anyone with my opinions, but they are mine to have. That is what makes America America after all: freedom.

And, if anyone has seen my old post from about a week ago and these new ones, I do not take back anything that I said and will not respond to any negative and hateful messages.

I assume you are against the lock down, am I right? Let me just say this... The lock down is essentially a way to give the Healthcare System time to adapt and have the capacity to answer... Imagine this: no lock down, everyone is on the streets, offices, whatever... The virus is very infectious, so that would cause a lot of people getting sick at the same time... The infection ratio would spike... A lot! Unfortunately, no country on Earth has an Healthcare System prepared for this... Imagine, just to give you some random numbers, 2000 sick people needing to go to the hospital, an hospital made to receive at most 1000 people at the same time during a crisis... And this is without considering the doctors, nurses and so on who would get sick as well... What would happen to that hospital? It would collapse, it won't have enough capacity to handle the situation... Now, if those 2000 people also get sick, but in larger period of time because they aren't so much in contact with each other (lock down scenario), and we have at most 300 at a certain time, that gives the hospital enough time do adapt, and it won't 'overload'...
Also, consider this: working in hard conditions increases the possibility of errors, so it's wise to give the health professionals the best working conditions possible, make that protective equipment or time to correctly spend with the patients...
This a scenario of one hospital only... Imagine this in a whole country...
This is the main idea of the lock down, buying time... Sure, it can decrease the number of infected people (and deaths) in total, but it's essentially by giving those people the correct and necessary health treatment, impossible to be given if the Healthcare system is overloaded...

And I say this to you: yes, the economies are suffering a lot, and yes, people will become unemployed... But that's why some countries have social security programs in place (mine sure has)... It will be a though road through recovery, but when a government priorizes the economy over the heath of their citizens, it resembles those extreme dicatorships of the past... Maybe you remember some names, Stalin? Hitler? Mussolini? Mao? Franco? Salazar? Pinochet? Vargas? Khadafi? Mubarak? Mugabe? Kim? Hopefully we won't add the names of Trump or Bolsonaro to list in the future...

I respect your opinion I just can’t stand misinformation, I’m just trying to make sure people know what’s right in terms of the facts that we know, I hope you aren’t a person who has been affected by polarization so bad that you will not change you're opinion on this.

There are certain rules of conduct here, and sometimes a nation deliberately and flagrantly disregards those rules. In those cases, action may be taken, i.e. suppression by a moderator.

Polarization...I am always open to change and differing points of view. I’m afraid that while your words have not fallen on deaf ears, they have not changed my overall status. In terms of polarization and the US, I will say that above everything, I am an American. That is what unites us all, regardless of political opinions, race, gender, sexuality, and social norms. I hope that through this shutdown, every American can remember that. :)

Trust me, misinformation and ignorance are the worst enemies here, not the virus itself...

Same stuff happened to me when I did something authoritarian one time. I think it's down to the people creating these not really checking their affects.

Also, good lord almighty is there a large number of text walls right now.

I imagine the civil rights went up because you don't have unregistered, untrained patrols of random people who feel entitled to stop and deal however they like with whomever they find offensive and for whatever reason, even if it goes against a general population's rights, principles, or safety. ... Just the registered and trained ones.

Indeed, this sometimes happens in some issues, where all options boost/harm the same stat.
