I'm just gonna say this now, Idk why Zyris initially told me he'd stay out of guilds to prevent being impartial, then proceed to try to run for a guild and soon MY OWN.

Katniss Everdean, Viennaria, and Lasvegastan

I hereby Announce my bid for the History Guild in the next Vizier Election. Expect campaigning to begin very soon.

Katniss Everdean and Lasvegastan

I am currently writing a new address to my guild, it will help focus on the members more than the leader.

Katniss Everdean and Lasvegastan

Zyris for Vizier of History Guild

I am calling on all supporters to come together and support Zyris for Vizier of the History Guild in the June 5th Election. Before I begin, let me share my reasons for running in this historic election.

Reasons for a Change
• Lead Keion has published only 1 news story in 3 months.
• Lead Keion has never promoted our history.
• Lead Keion has never gathered historical documents together.
• The Guild deserves successful leadership.

Plan of Action
• Change the name to the Phoenix Guild
• Adopt new symbology to reflect the name.
• Weekly News publications.
• Monthly Foreign Embassy Publications
• Active Vizier who welcomes new nations and encourages them to sign for citizenship and join a guild.
• Actively assess legislation and vote according to what the people want.
• Internal Guild Government and leadership.

So, welcome all to the Zyris Campaign. Lead Keion will do his best to convince you that he intends on making changes, that I shouldnt run, that my campaign is somehow not right, that he deserves another chance. Allow me to present to you the truth, and a realistic plan of action and turn the History Guild into something that can be admired by all.

Vote Zyris on 6-5

I'm just going to say, if news publications are happening weekly, then members will very badly experience burnout much much quicker, therefore dragging that downward as well. I accept most of the other changes with whole-hearted compliance. I will surely do my best to try and improve my guild within that time, to allow more nations to join and spread across regions.

I would be happy to have biweekly news updates. Anything more and you run the risk of burnout and thus the loss of members. Besides odds are nothing too major will happen weekly and with how everything is run here a new update after the 5th poll and after the 20th poll should do the job nicely.

That was my original plan for the newsletter really. But as I'm going to say in my new address, you'll understand more why I've stopped them.

Katniss Everdean and Lasvegastan

Burnout? Nonsense. I ran a newspaper that published daily for NS for a long time. It took approximately 45 minutes to put together, and another 15 to distribute across the various regions. Burnout laughably osnt the issue here, it is will. I have the will to get it done, so I will find a way to do it, because our region deserves the best.

If 4 people get "Burnout" after contributing as little as 15 minutes a week apiece for a newspaper, then we need new people, lol. I believe determined and dedicated people can churn out news pretty quickly and of a great quality.

Problem.

The only 2 nations in the guild don't really have a dedication towards the newsletter, and are instead interested in History.

Solution: Then dont promise what you cant deliver and Shift focus to history. Changing a plan is okay of the original plan isnt working out like you intended. Abydos has History books, philosophy documents, amazing old stories from years ago. Promote that. When those things are promoted, people find a piece of themselves in the history and want to make their mark on the future.

History is a powerful feature, but people need to be taught. Something as simple as daily Abydos history tidbits can do wonders for a regions morale and motivation.

Hold up so you're telling me the history guild has but two members. No wonder the newsletter hasn't seen an update in weeks you have far too few people working on it. I think we need to step up and help in ensuring we can get the newsletter out in a timely manner. Two people is just not going to do the job.

That sounds like a good starting point. If people have some idea of the history we can get a sense of the region's people and feel closer. I will say I would be fine with voting for any of you but I would like to see some coming from the history guild. I did enjoy the first and to the date the only newsletter and would love to see another soon. So much has happened in the past few weeks.

I would like to place my bid for Vizer of the Citizens Guild. While I will start more serious campaigning this monday, I would like to give a quick overview of what I plan to do

Phase one: Preparation and Organization

*Getting a list of any citizens guild members

*Creation of factions including: Political party organizers (To help guilds promote and offer organization help), Intiators (To help new members understand how Abydos works), Scribes (to graph the statistics of elections and help keep up with the changes to guilds and parties),
*To help keep members more involved

Phase Two: Execution and Campaigning

* Begin to offer help and promotion to any guilds who need it via posts in the RMB and representation in any guiding telegrams we send out to confused members

*Making it known that anyone who is confused can either log a post on the RMB or telegram directly

*Having the scribes study the old constitution and documents and interview new vizers to clarify any changes, then posting them RMB

Thanks for reading this, feel free to ask any questions, I hope to win your vote for next election.

I have noted your bid in preparation for next months elections.

As a citizen, I do want to ask, is moving the citizens Guild out of Abydos the right idea? Since the Defense Guild moved out. Their RMB activity has plummeted, which means they are missing out on great opportunities to promote themselves. The guilds should be using the RMB to the fullest. Better to have an RMB that is overly active than one that falls stagnant. A military mission hasnt taken place in over a month, and their subsidiary region has also fallen dormant. May I suggest keeping the Guild here, and promoting it. That drives up your membership because here is where the action is. As for political parties, your guild and your political party is the same thing. As I had mentoned to someone earlier, Make your Guild unique and with it's own atmosphere and personality that your people can take pride in and have loyalty with. They shouldnt feel like generic office buildings.

Since I am Also running for Guild Vizier of another Guild, I will be happy to help support your campaign.

Zyris is really strong in this situation. The more you can last in your own region's RMB, the larger and longer a guild can prevail.

Thank you for the question. I'm still on the fence on whether or not to make a seperate region, on one hand, like you said it will give us more chances to promote, on the other hand, especially at the very beginning it will take a lot of messaging back and forth that I would feel bad subjecting people who didn't sign up for it. But given the input I've gotten I'll will be editing my plan a bit. I really appreciate the input

I really dislike the idea of moving people away from the region as it makes no sense. The people are here that you need to grow your guild/party. It's one thing to have a subregion for military operations, it's another thing just to move the people themselves out.

The Citizens guild is the default guild. Everybody joins it once they become citizens of Abydos. Moving them out kind of makes the entire application for citizenship fairly pointless. You answer something to be a citizen only to then jump somewhere else. Yeah...no that makes no sense.

Katniss Everdean and Lasvegastan

Since the idea seem paticulary unfavorable, I have changed the plans, again thanks for the help

I ran because the Defense guild has gone stale, and we haven't done anything in weeks, even though we had plans to something at some point in the last few weeks.

Ragnox wrote:I ran because the Defense guild has gone stale, and we haven't done anything in weeks, even though we had plans to do something at some point in the last few weeks.

I will say that I'm all for getting every guild in Abydos active and lively. Abydos has grown so fast so far and getting people into leading roles that can jumpstart the guilds is something I'm game to see happen.

Ragnox wrote:I ran because the Defense guild has gone stale, and we haven't done anything in weeks, even though we had plans to something at some point in the last few weeks.

That is the type of motivation we need around here. There are dozens, sometimes hundreds of opportunities to defend or raid every single update. At 50 chances to do something, 2 times a day, that means that the Defense Guild has missed over 3,000 opportunities this month! That is a ton of missed opportunities.

And it's not like the Defense Guild has to be huge... It is just as easy to team up with another defender or raider group and jump with them. Nothing wrong with that and usually they want the help... and that leads to new allies for the Diplomays Guild and plenty of news stories to write about in History Guild. All this is connected.

Run again, I'll support you. Bon nese seems motivated to make things happen as well with Citizens, hopefully he can support you too. Let's transform some of these Guilds and have a fun time at it.

"A Phoenix Always Prevails"

Release the Phoenix: Vote Zyris on June 5th.

As a first step toward a brighter future for the History Guild, I have decided to implement the Power to the People Address.

The goal of this Address is to give every citizen their own chance to show what they’re capable of, and to see what their current styles are for gameplay, roleplay, and various other things within Abydos. They can request help from guild members or do things their own way.

History will also be a major focus. This partly in due to me being the solo person running the newsletter and I would like to put the best interests of the nations who are Guild Members

Finally, we will still support foreign relations and will gladly help making dispatches to show other regions our events.

This is my first step into reform, and to help spread equality across the region.
