Esquarians,

As most of you know, I have been largely absent from regional affairs for the past few weeks, due to a much-needed vacation. I know my absence has been a hindrance to active worldbuilding and I apologize, although this separation has given me a lot of time to think about recent events.

The departure of certain key members of Esquarium and Nordania’s canon have prompted me to seriously re-examine Ambrose’s role in this region. While I still enjoy worldbuilding and nationbuilding with Ambrose, over the past several years I have worked it into a form that I have neither the time, the creativity, nor, most importantly, the motivation to substantially re-work. Furthermore, as I am preparing for higher education, I am also recognizing that I have substantially less time on my hands than I would like, and that my commitment to this region, no matter how enjoyable and entertaining, has been somewhat of a detriment to real world pursuits that are becoming increasingly important at this stage of my life.

As such, I have decided I am, for the foreseeable future, retiring Ambrose and retiring from Esquarium as a whole.

It’s been a great five years that I have had the chance to be an active member of this community, going from a tiny island country whose entire existence was a tongue-in-cheek joke to a nation that has, through the efforts of both myself and others, become a major power in the same Nordania led by Vjaarland and Nevanmaa in 2014. I can’t stress enough that I love Ambrose and what my original concept has morphed into, and it is not despite, but because of this love that I choose to retire it instead of half-heartedly rework it into what I feel would be a lesser-version of itself.

Though I am withdrawing Ambrose from the canon, I plan to still lurk on the discord for the occasional sh*tpost, so I don’t particularly feel the need to say any goodbyes at this point. And who knows? Maybe in the future I’ll be back; if not with Ambrose, with something entirely new and different that I grow to enjoy just as much.

It’s been real, Esquarium.

Made you guys a new miscellaneous thread.

My fellow Esquarians,

I have been in this region for nearly seven years. In this time period, I have seen the rise of Esquarium as a roleplaying and worldbuilding region, the peak of Esquarium as a roleplaying and worldbuilding region, and finally, its demise as a roleplaying and worldbuilding region.

It is hard to believe when I first came to Esquarium that this region would have reached over 250 nations in April 2014. It is hard to believe that I have lasted for so long in Esquarium: to have outlived not only Iglesiantis and Swilatia, who basically were the two people who kickstarted Esquarium as it stands today when they decided to merge their regions together (and how I finally settled down in this region), but also so many other people like Geadland, Vyvland, Namor, and so many others. And yes, it is hard to believe that I am here at the region's end, for I would have expected to one day leave an active Esquarium, instead of a dead Esquarium.

However, after nearly seven years of living in this home on the internet; of roleplaying and worldbuilding Luziyca, Katranjiev, and the metric tonne of nations that I have made over the years here, and of experiencing a lot of opportunities, some good, and some bad, I feel like it is time for me to move on to a more vibrant community: to one that reminds me of what Esquarium was like somewhere between April 2013 and late 2018 when we were active, and when we had very good lore; to one that will provide far more opportunities in developing my new concepts than Esquarium ever could, and to one that already has many of you guys there.

To Monty, Ainin, and Hippo: I wish you the best of luck in keeping Esquarium alive. I know that it won't be easy, and I know that it will by necessity be much smaller than the Esquarium that we have all grown used to. All I can hope for is that your efforts will bear fruit, and that in a few years time, Esquarium will still be active in some shape or form.

To Geadland, Vyvland, Pavonistade, Xiaodong, Qianrong, and so many others that I cannot be bothered to list: I am thankful that I have had the opportunity to RP with all of you, and develop lore with you. I am hopeful that no matter where you have ended up, that you are doing well at whatever future endeavours you are up to.

To everyone, past and/or present: I am sorry for any of my actions that have led you to depart Esquarium, and I will make sure that I won't do that in my new home. I recognize that I am not always the most pleasant human being, to say the least, even though I have improved quite a bit from when I first came to Esquarium. And to everyone past and/or present, thank you for putting up with me, and thank you for all the memories that we have had together.

And finally, to those that will come after us, in the likely event this is the last post on the RMB for a long time: You may be surrounded by the ghosts of dead nations, but do not let that deter you from constructing a new Esquarium. I do not know whether you will turn it into a gameplay region, a roleplay/worldbuilding region, or even just a chill region where you guys post on NSG all the time, but I seriously hope that no matter what, your efforts will lead Esquarium back to its former glory; to exceed the 253 nations we had at our peak, and for Esquarium's name to once again be recognizable among NSers as something that is, not as something that was.

Until we meet again,
Luz

Its been real boys. Esquarium lives on in our hearts.

Thank you for sharing.

Well Robbie's got a brand new girlfriend
She's got a script for pills
These here man they're the good ones
Counting those ten dollar bills

What Mama don't know won't hurt her
That's what he'd always say
He's going down to Bossier City
He's gonna drink his cares away

Robbie's got a thousand dollars
That's more than the saw mills paying
Lucy she's at her mamas
But he'll lose it all today

He's got a thousand dollars
That's just some gasoline
You know that boy well he can gamble
Like you ain't never seen

What Mama don't know won't hurt her
That's what he'd always say
He's going down to Bossier City
He's gonna drink his cares away

Hi strangers noticed you were a rather small region so curious how you became friends with the Region of gay.

Hey it’s me from Greater Dienstad

Just wanted to say hello and pay tribute to what was once a lively and fun region. Sadly, it has ended. Maybe one day it will be continued.
Ruhe in Frieden, meine Freunde.
