Vantierian Senate election

2 years before the General Election, Schwarzenberg has announced that the Senate of the Empire of Vantier will be closed and that the election will take place.
The Senate has been controlled by the Liberal Party with an absolute majority for nearly a decade. According to the Vantierian Constitution from 2025, the Senate can accept or reject treaties, confirms actions taken by the executive, such as appointing government officials and has other legislative powers. Unlike other senates, not controlling the Vantierian Senate makes passing laws and appointing officers extremely tedious and complicated.

In this election, the first one in which black people will be allowed to vote, Schwarzenberg is expected to lose his absolute majority and will have to either deal with the two largest conservative parties (National and People's parties) or lead the senate minority, as the socialists may win the senate.

Due to the rapid population growth and territorial expansion, the number of senators has been increased, from 350 to 480. The House of Representatives, the most important legislative house, is still controlled by the liberals with another absolute majority and will remain so until the 2042 election, when things may change. The number of representatives to be elected will be increased from 500 to 1,000.

Polls for the Senate election show that there will likely be a 4-way tie:
The SDLP (socialists) will almost certainly win the most seats, as black and votes from former colonies will mostly go to the left. However, they don't have any allies aside from radical-left parties and the CPV (communists), and these parties usually underperform.
The Liberals remain popular among white and black voters, but they will lose many seats as the conservatives will win the white vote and the socialists win the black vote.
The conservative parties will not be able to obtain as many seats due to vote splitting, but they will certainly win the white vote.
A new party, "United", is expected to obtain some seats and will attract many socialist and liberal voters thanks to their populist and big tent program. United is a big tent party that doesn't align itself in the political compass. They consider themselves a "humanist" and "postmodern" political party, without a clear political program. Most polls give them a high number of votes but very few seats due to how the seat distribution works, but this could change, obviously.

The Liberal Democratic Union diplomatically recognises these nations and territories on an international level.

Note:

NPC land (land that is not part of a LDU nation) is available for claim. To claim a piece of land, post in the Regional Message Board AND send a telegram to Potenzia.

If the land you want to claim has already been claimed, you can still send a telegram and it may become available, especially in regards to nations and empires that have already claimed a lot of territory. (Nations with an asterisk (*) are puppet nations and may also be subject to change.)

All nations should have at least one Factbook and remain active to maintain their spot on the map. Nations that do not participate in the regional role-play or have not posted on the RMB for 60 days or more will be removed at the discretion of the cartographer.

Oh, I don't want to simply collaborate in the future. Your nation is in dire need of supplies, you may be able to defeat Terra Longe on their own, but it will be much harder if Rome is helping them, and they certainly will. I am asking for a wartime alliance, not a peacetime one. We both have a shared interest, viz, the defeat of Terra Longe. You want to reclaim America for the natives, We want to get rid of Terra Longe to further our goal of ending what some have termed the "Second Pax Romana". We also want the natives to reclaim America, as you Native Americans are not only Japhethites, but are less diluted than most of the Eurasian Japhethites, meaning you are more superior in our book (read page=rmb/postid=48299733) and deserve the land much more than those Potenzians and Romans.

BREAKING NEWS: Global Networks Resume Operation After Blackout

After an unprecedented blackout, global internet and network services have finally been restored, bringing relief to billions worldwide. The sudden blackout, which began at the beginning of 2040, left the world in a state of disarray, prompting widespread disruptions across all sectors. Governments, businesses, and individuals were left scrambling to cope with the sudden loss of digital connectivity, leading to economic turmoil, communication breakdowns, and social unrest.

Today, on March 26th, 2040, the digital veil has been lifted, as networks flicker back to life across the globe. Reports indicate that the restoration efforts have been successful, with connectivity gradually returning to pre-outage levels. However, experts caution that the full extent of the damage caused by the blackout is yet to be assessed…

Yihaaa!

Important to note: "Data and services will continue to come back online over the next few days. Please note that further downtime will probably be necessary, even if we don't hit any unexpected problems.". So I guess a quick "Hello" and in the near future, again "goodbye".

Emperor Josev Aszrymop III reacts:

"My fellow citizens of Savranakas Suurvaltas, today is a pivotal moment in our journey. I am pleased to announce that our digital infrastructure has been restored, and the internet is once again operational. While the road to recovery has been challenging, with setbacks such as flooded generators and compromised storage facilities, I am proud to say that our diligent efforts have ensured the retrieval of all data in its original form, without tampering. However, it is imperative that we conduct a thorough investigation into the root causes of this unprecedented blackout to prevent such occurrences in the future. Let us remain vigilant and resolute as we move forward, united in our determination to overcome any obstacle that may come our way."

Prime Minister Paulis von Rozenbahs reacts:

"Normally I am all for new technology and its advancement, but in this situation we can be extremely pleased that some parts of old technologies and mechanics still exist, such as a cable telephone, the telegram system and our very own post-offices. By making contact with other world leaders and their specialists in this way, we were able to get the internet working again. It was a joint project and a collaborative success.

I thank everyone for remaining as calm as possible in this situation for which, I suspect, none of us were responsible. And I hope that when I said the previous thing, I wasn't too naive. The Post Office has been working extremely hard for days to get the Public Benefit Notice out to every home, and we apologize if you received more than one, or if you didn't receive one. Today's world does not function without the Internet and perhaps measures should be taken to control it more, so it is not one event, but several mechanical constructions."
