Of course, I'm not using any map other than the old lady and my own map

If I become Home Secretary, I am going to focus on keeping the LDU a peaceful place where everyone is included. As of right now, there are no major policy changes that I would focus on, but throughout my term, I would make changes as needed. Everything I do would be for the benefit of the Union.
My campaign is posted in my factbook. Please feel free to read it!

I have a very sad announcement to make.

While working on the map for our region (I was sidetracked by the elections and things in real life, but started working on it again) inkscape, the application I am using, crashed and all my work was lost, because I stupidly hadn't saved and kept the window open. I tried to restart my work, but inkscape was working weirdly and the tool I was using does not work. This has shown me that I really don't know a lot about inkscape because I can only use one tool (poorly) and now that tool is broken, so I don't know how to draw with it any more. So I have come up with some potential alternate solutions for a map.

(for non-English speakers using automatic translating, sorry if some of these names are difficult for google to translate, I know how finicky it can be when translating words that aren't real words)

1. Inkarnate. I put this number one because I think it is the best option. Inkarnate is a tool that is often used for fantasy maps people make for roleplaying games, such as D&D, and has many features that can make cool maps. There are a range of options, from antique maps made to look like they are printed with ink on parchment paper to maps that look like an illustrated version of the real world. I have lots of experience with Inkarnate, and I also have the pro version of it which gives me more features because I use it quite often. I can try to recreate what Telenaum has done with the current map, albeit in a slightly different style, and update that easily.

2. Some sort of bitmap (like Paint). I put this second because it is the second traditional method I could think of, though I don't think it would make as good-looking as a map or be as easy as Inkarnate would be. Bitmaps I have experience with, though not as much as Inkarnate. They would be a rougher map, but I could do that if you want.

3. Cut-and-paste mapmaking. This is the third option because it isn't a traditional style of mapmaking, but one I have grown pretty good at. Cut-and-paste mapmaking is where I take small pieces of real world maps and photoshop them heavily, modifying them into a map that's unrecognizable and looks good. On my nation's factbook, the map I have was developed using that technique, and is actually a small island in South Korea in real life but doesn't look like that island anymore. This method would be time consuming and pretty difficult, but I can still make a decent map out of it that looks original, and has the bonus of looking like it is from google earth.

What do you guys think of these options? Inkscape is very glitchy on my computer and after this crash I don't want it to happen again, so I am looking for an easier, better looking, and saveable mapmaking tool.

Don't feel too bad; this happens to everybody. It is great that the map was being made at all, so thank you. Sulasburg votes for Inkarnate, if that counts for anything. Good luck, and thanks again!

Anybody interested in making a revision of my flag?

Sure! What sort of thing would you want?

What sort of flag, I mean.

It doesn't matter to me, what you are using.. If you like working with it. It's good enough

I’d say whichever is easiest for you. Inkarnate looks cool.

I think Inkarnate seems pretty nice. I vote for that.

Hello.. Would someone like it. to make a new flag for me?
I am not sure I will choose that flag, but If someone has time..

The things it need to have..
-The Belgian flag (cause I am a Belgian)
-something blue with 8 yellow stars... (for the many lakes and 8 provinces)

The other things you can use your imagination

I can try to do that. It may take a few days, though.

Two things about that
(1) There are some tools in it where, when you use them, it can seem like everything froze and the whole thing is ruined when actually it's just taking a minute to get done. Recently I was using a tool in it where you can measure area in pixels and that just freezes the whole program for a minute or two. I don't know if this was the scenario surrounding yours or not
(2) Sometimes it does actually just suddenly crash. However, at least for me, everytime it crashed, it told me that it saved my project and showed me the file url for it on my computer. If that happened to you, it might still be on your computer completely saved.

However, if you don't want to use Inkscape anymore, you don't have to

Along with that, if you want a simple beginning info on how to make things in the map, this video can help. It was the first one I saw talk about Inkscape. While the video is aimed at a different project, it tells you how to use almost all the tools I use (outside of Trace bitmap, but that's different).

I can try to do that myself, but it might take a while.

I have decided to endorse Sulasburg for the Home Secretary race, as I see them as the best possible candidate for this race, though, once again, all candidates are strong candidates (and let me tell you, I had a HARD time deciding who to endorse. They're all so good!). Sulasburgs policies seem to be the most in line with my own, and I think they will bring the LDU forward in great ways. Good luck to all the candidates!

I will keep up my streak of super late endorsements, though I believe you can change your vote at a later time.

Thank you so very much! Your endorsement is greatly appreciated, and as Sulasburg has the greatest respect for your opinion your endorsement means a great deal.
